Back at the same weight. Been trying to up my protein…. Harder than I thought. At first I freaked out that I was gaining a bit but now it seems to actually be working :) nothing I can do about my breakfasts, I have had oats, almond butter, honey and ground flaxseeds everyday for over a decade….. it’s more than a habit and I need those carbs in the morning to function.

I also battle with protein. I've started putting collagen powder in my morning cup of coffee to give me that extra 9g.

Oh interesting, I don’t know anything about this…I’ll do some research.

I use the neutral one so there's no flavour difference and 10g scoop is 9g of protein. They say you should have 2 scoops a day but I've been doing one for a few weeks now.

do you lose faster when you get a lot of protein in?

Whey protein powder gives the most complete proteins. Find a whey powder that contains NO other flavourants and sweeteners and additives. Health Connection Whole Foods is my go-to, but it has got expensive recently. There are tons of varieties, so it will require some research (beyond what a shop assistant will tell you) to find the right one. I mix mine into low-fat yoghurt and there's no difference in taste. @kezzyb4 - collagen is excellent for bones, skin, hair and joints, but it's not a complete protein - meaning you will need extra amino acids to feed your muscles. @beanka - the idea is that protein takes more energy to process in your body, plus it helps you build muscle (think lean muscle, not ripped body builder :)). The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn in between exercise to maintain that muscle (i.e. higher metabolism). Protein also keeps you satiated for longer, so you don't snack between meals - also a good strategy for weight loss.

@kezzyb4 It's because of your comment that I went to see if I could get my protein macros from collagen, but alas... Thought I'd share here, so thank *you* 🌸

You could try sprinkling some protein powder onto your breakfast, and eating biltong snapsticks is fantastic for more protein.
