SherryeB's Journal, 04 Mar 23

I decided it was time to retire the Alpine Christmas trees to the basement, today. They won't be there with their twinkly lights on dark, gloomy days or at night, but it does open up the windows in the corner when the sun is shining. I do have a lamp in the corner, so it's not totally dark. I also took down the wreath in the kitchen window & on the sunroom door. The only thing I haven't removed yet is the lighted garland on the deck rail. That will probably go, soon.

I was cutting a few Lenten roses to put in a little vase on the coffee table, today....I saw several hostas are starting to come up. I gave all the new greenery a spray of deer repellant.

I pulled some clothes I had in the guestroom closet out & sorted through them. I tried some on, but decided most of them (kept a couple of tanks & a t shirt) need to stay in the donation pile. I just need to box them up & get them out of the house.

The downstairs got a good vacuuming & I did a load of laundry.

After I finished housework, I was tired & hungry, so I made a snack & watched a couple of episodes of Pretty Little Liars. I was feeling all lazy & dozy, so I decided to turn the remote over to Hubby & get up off the sofa. I took the dogs for a short walk up the drive to the mailbox & down to the end of the cul-de-sac.

I have snowflakes on the porch- a strand of lights- to bring inside. They are large so only about 5 flakes on maybe an 8 ft cord. It is time. I no longer light them and it is as simple as reaching up and unhooking them, but you would think it would require heavy machinery. Looking forward to opening my sunporch soon. Maybe one day I will get the windows fixed in there so it can be all season instead of April-October. It is nice to have something on the main floor though- to keep the decor I switch out with the Christmas instead of up and down to the basement. It becomes a little catch all area in the off season months- which is fine by me behind the french doors and curtains up so no one can see. :)
