Just finished my yoga/ toning routine...outside today cause the sun is shining but the temps are not too hot. Got in a walk yesterday & we'll be heading out soon for another today.

I worked in the gardens earlier for awhile. The weeds seem never ending and the plants that are growing well are big this time of year. I pruned back the lenten rose that had overtaken an azalea bush in the front garden. That just gave me an idea. I should transplant some lenten roses out behind the back deck. We have never planted any gardens back there....just trees. The lenten roses are deer proof....I've never seen them eat one at all & they bloom from Feb. to June. I don't usually spend a lot time in the cold weather out here but if I continue to exercise on the deck in the moderate weather I might spend a bit more time this year. I'd still like to put some color out back, too. The lenten roses are green with pale pink & creamy flowers.

Our pizza with the added veggies turned out pretty good last night. I ended up eating a few more calories than I wanted to yesterday. I'm trying to stay closer to 1700 til I lose the extra 2.2 lbs. (as of today) I ended up having a Madeleine cookie after lunch yesterday. And Hubby "gifted" me a stick of his licorice after dinner & dessert. I also ate a couple of chunks of the Cashew clusters with almonds & pumpkin seed with my jello & whipped cream. All that bumped me up just a little.

I'm making seared fresh tuna for dinner & some Cilantro lime rice I bought yesterday. Have to decide what veggie to cook. That should all be fairly low cal.

We're going for Brunch on Saturday in honor of my neice who just earned her Masters Degree. She worked on her degree last year in spite of having a very stressful job in hospital administration during Covid and losing her Dad in October. And she just divorced recently, which is a sad story in itself. The family wants to show her how proud we are of her. After Brunch the plan is to hang out at her sister's place, swim & socialize.

Three weeks til we leave for the beach!! Can you tell I'm excited 😊 I shouldn't be wishing the month away, though.

Kids started school today, here. My granddaughter is Home schooling again this year...HS. Sophomore. I really wish she was going in person but due to Covid & the mask requirements last year her parents pulled her out of her school....a really good school geared towards kids interested in performing arts. She's very creative but I think would benefit from more day to day social interaction with kids her age.

Gotta go...time to walk.

Weeds are the downside of rain, for sure. Good exercise, although my back usually complains.

Mine go back the 11th. Got the mask mandate yesterday after we were excited to be without. I feel like this is the earliest we have started school in awhile. 8th grader and junior. already. I thought we would go back the 3rd week so they already have to miss a day for my sister's wedding. Oh well. Life sounds good for you, Sherry! Love reading your little adventures.

Lenten roses in the back sounds like a very good gardening strategy. 👍 And that rice sounds absolutely delicious! 😋 What a thoughtful get together for your niece. She sure has been through a lot, but still received her degree. 👏 Some many adjustments still going on with school. Sure hope your granddaughter can get all she needs and more this school year. 💕
