YAY! Whittling it down. If I don't have any Michelob Ultras this weekend I would prob continue losing. I've noticed a pattern. If I drink, I won't drop another pound for several days. I have been managing my food well but really like hanging out with my hubby and friends on the deck drinkin a couple beers. Am I gonna slow my progress and live a bit or be rigid to keep that progress going?
77.7 kg Lost so far: 10.8 kg.    Still to go: 14.2 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Alcohol sugars are digested first by the stomach, before your food, and a lot of trainers advise against drinking if you're trying to lose weight (okay for maintenance). Plus we often don't pay attention/log all the munchie food that we consume while we're drinking, so the problem just escalates. Good drop this morning, K.

You know I would live a little bit, manage it well and then super compensate. Either way - i try either in advance if planned or after if spontaneous - to cut back on intake and increase on activity ... and I never let a binge go uncompensated for .. that way I try to cancel it out with discipline either before or after. And actually having to "pay" for it, will help you reign it in .. because is it worth the pain, and would you modify and restrict it more if you had to make a type of penance for it. Anyway in my brain, compensating somehow, to address the imbalance helps me keep it in check. But do what works for you!! Trade offs seem to work for me, rather than either one extreme or the other.

Same with me. Any alcohol stops weight loss even if it fits within my calorie range. Someone said your body is working too hard to burn the alcohol it doesn't have time to burn the calories. Just make a plan for drinking and stick with it.

FYI my recent quick drop has been DIRECTLY related to alcohol consumption! Recent clarity in my life is good and may set a rule of no bubbly M-F weekends only! BTW this is thanks to WannaBeHealthy.

I drink Real Lemon lemonade with a splash of beer when others are drinking. It's pretty close to 0 calories and keeps me on track. Friends can tease me, but that's Okay. or a wine spritzer.
