This week, I will always aim to have around 20 grams of carbs a day. I think I'll try to do it for the whole month of September and see what happens

Carbs or net carbs? Asking because I’m still undecided about how many carbs to munch a day

Do you exercise bester? I've been doing keto since 2018 and my carb tolerance started at 20 net. But it's now more than double. I keep ketone/glucose sticks on hand to assess my tolerance and how diff foods effect my levels. If you do cardio... Push ur carb higher for those days until your body accepts that amount as its new tollerance.

I do exercise but I’m in two minds about this keto thing because I would have to give up wine and what happens when you start eating normally again? Like pasta or pizza and then sushi date, you know, life? Most people regain all the weight they lost and then some? Is it all about going keto or nothing? Because I’m not sure I can give up my wine tastings 🤣🙈 and the internet being saturated with so many different this and that’s pros and cons do this don’t do this, honestly doesn’t help with the during or after goal weight has been reached. Looked at 15net carbs today and realised I’m nowhere near my fiber goal. Maybe you can give me some solid advice re sustaining with a balanced and social associated diet in keto x

Evening. This is my experience with keto. I started July 2019 and by November 2020. I had lost 17kg. Was feeling good and looking good. So it’s December 2019 and I’m eating “normal” again. Worse when lockdown happened. So I gained 10kg back in 6 months vs losing 17kg in 6 months. I went back to keto and for 2 months I didn’t lose anything and I got frustrated and thinking of changing my diet all together. It’s really hard to keep the weight off. You literally have to continue with the lifestyle. Cheat days eventually add up and you gain. Might not be a lot depending on how you balance it out. But yeah it’s a struggle. So I feel you guys. I LOVE my wine and yeah it’s tough.

If i was new I think I'd do 3 keto days and 4 banting days or vise versa. It's all about patience. No quick fix will really do the trick. Statistics show only 3% of all ppl on a diet mainlain their weight loss. Most gain back within first year. Others last up to three years, if ur eating habits, what ever they may b, dont get incorporated into ur daily life long term. I myself love the low carb sushi at John dories but I'm also fortunate enough to love baking. I turned keto into my play ground but it's safe to say I'm banting now. I've become so fat adapted i can eat up to 70g carbs while still in ketosis. As soon as i give myself a time frame. I mess up. Calorie deficit is all u really need.. U won't just balloon from normal foods

I did not give up wine when i was on Keto. I just gave up starch and sugar and it worked. I lost over 10kg. I went back to eating normally but with very limited carbs still... i eat cous cous, quinoa, rice, pasta and potatoes in moderation. I havent gained any weight but what i realise is, carbs make me more hungry and i crave unhealthy food often. I am considering cutting off refined carbs forever. I have done so with sugar, i think i can have carbs from fruits and veggies.

Wait! Is there a difference between Keto and Banting?

Banting doesn't have the state of ketosis in mind. Its low carb but without a hard limit like 20g net carbs.

But both reach ketosis? Oh I see. Thanks.
