Hi. Congratulations on reaching goal. I just joined with a starting weight of 63 kg and a goal of 52 kg which is sp similar to you. Would really appreciate if you could share what your weight loss strategy was... I am currently trying to eat 1200 calories a day... Not sure if its too low and for exercise a half an hour brisk walk.

Hi Lessthan15. I was on 1300 calories - on a rather mixed diet of good and bad days but around 80% of the time I stuck to my diet. It wasn't too different of what I normally eat so that transitioning off now to a maintenance diet has been easy. I too have about an hour of walking per day, but a leisurely stroll with my dog. So on the face of it, there is not much difference between me and you :) If I was more disciplined, I probably would have lost weight faster, but six months later, the weight I wanted to lose is gone with just calorie restriction. Good luck with your diet - all I can say is be patient with yourself and stick to the diet: the weight WILL come down. When you have a bad day or three, pick yourself up and carry on. There will be good days and bad days, but stick to your diet and I promise you with time, the weight comes down. I have learned to eat better and mix and match my ingredients because 1200 / 1300 calories means you need to properly plan your meals and ingredients, but it can be done with trial and error.

Tx so much Ms cornwall. I really appreciate you taking the time out to give me this detailed answer. I will perseverance and keep you updated. Have decided to weigh in only at the end of October as i fear constant weighing may just derail me if I don't get the results i expect. Once again... Well done.... All the best with maintenance... Will be keeping a close eye on your maintenance. 💪💃

Thank you - and yes, I will watch your progress and cheer you on too. You will work out a plan that works for you, but it does take a bit of time to find your groove. Or it took me trial and error to see what worked. Please post your good days and bad days - even if the scale goes up and down because people here will encourage you or kick you behind (in a nice way) when needed. There will be days when dieting sucks, but don't let it demotivate you. You may not always be happy with the results you see, but it means carry on and try harder. Post - because there is support here and we all know that the struggle is real :) Good luck! :)

May I make a suggestion? I run a slimming clinic. Choosing what makes up your calories is the key. I am currently on 900 calories per day but I regard lettuce, onion, cucumber, green pepper, parsley and celery as free. If I am hungry, I will make a huge salad bowl with all of those, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and tuck in. Full tummy until my next meal 😉

Always open to suggestions, Cheryl1963* - and yours is a good one because I love my salads. Thank you. :)

@J'sinch - In a matter of time you would be in the same boat too. Good luck going forward :)
