Struggling with this 72kg... been months now. It seems even the littlest of carb affects my weight still. I exercise really hard, that is 5 to 6 days of gym. 3-4 days of 30min cardio i.e. steps or 4.3 km run on treadmill. Then I do a 25 to 30min resistance exercise.
Perhaps my struggle is at night... I sometimes eat too late... that is 8pm supper.
I have not measured in a while... afraid to see no change or worst nightmare increase in size... my clothes still seem to fit nicely, though I sometimes feel like there is areas that do not seem to change when I look into the mirror...? Feeling a bit lowish today...😏
72.6 kg Lost so far: 21.6 kg.    Still to go: 7.6 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
Gaining 0.1 kg a Week

Try cut out carbs at night and if at all possible try eat by no later than 18h30 - 19h00 Eat 3 small portions of veggies and your meat. Try that for 1 week and see if you see a difference. I eat by 18h00 and no carbs. My carb is for breakfast and lunch and maybe a Ryvita or Provita late afternoon snack, and I found that helped me lose weight. Just a suggestion.... Good Luck and don't Give UP. KEEP TRYING till you find something that helps

Chin up Maria, you have done well so far. Maybe you need to try something different? Body gets used to your exercise regime or your eating habits and your weight seems stuck. Although, please remember you may have the same weight but exchanged fat for muscle... Ask them to measure your body fat percentage at the gym to check. :) So maybe cut carbs or increase them. Do more gym or do less, change the food that you are eating completely - even for a week. Just do something different to boot your body out of its rut. May or may not work, but I feel a change, sometimes a week or more calories as opposed to less or anything that if different gets my weight loss moving. Good luck and keep on keeping on!!

Hi Maria, have you tried some weight training instead of just cardio? Also ask if there is someone at your gym that can measure your body fat % rather than just relying on you weight to track progress

Sounds exactly like me! I breathe in the direction of sugar or fat (like wors) and I pack on. Amazed I've pretty much maintained for the week with the crap I had over the weekend. Keep at it and maybe try something different. You've hit a plateau, and sometimes you need a change to shake it off.

Thank you FS family for your feedback, you have been extremely helpful... I will most certainly check at the gym to see if they can measure my fat and muscle ratio... I will do some research to see how I can perhaps eat differently just to surprise my body a bit. Good point made on the exercise, I need to perhaps ramp it up by doing something different like the HIIT... change makes me very nervous, but I’m excited to see what could happen... the battle is not over...💪🏽... thanks everyone for the motivation💕💕💕

Oh dear. I don't understand why people say don't eat past a certain time at night. It doesnt matter when you eat. You can eat your whole days' calories at night, it's not going to make you fatter than when you eat that calories through the day. As long as the amount of calories you take in stay the same. You burn a certain amount of calories through the day. If you take in more than that, you are going to gain weight. But remember, when you lose weight, your maintenance calories will be lower than when you weighed more. If it suits you to eat at night rather than early in the morning, you do you

Avoid all white carbs. And wheat products. Just eat vegetables, greens, meat, and eggs. You will drop again. Avoid starchy vegetables as well if you want to drop consistently. Potatoes tend to give a high insulin response. So you will notice you might gain after eating it. I myself have PCOS and have insulin resistance. So I avoid even beef as it give a high insulin response, fish and chicken give a low insulin response so I don’t gain with lean meats. Just figure out what foods respond better to your body. I avoid dairy as well. Not easy. I do slip up. When I stick to what I just mentioned. I lose the weight. With little weight fluctuations and more dropping of weight. Even during shark week.

Maybe try changing up your workout routine to do more strength training and less but more HIT cardio? Also maybe try playing around with your calorie intake?

Just keep it up! Muscle weighs more than fat😉Go and measure, you might have lost cm and gained muscle weight. Also remember with all that training you are definitely losing body fat which is good💪Try Insanity workout if you like something to do at home. Good luck

I noticed that you track calories very seldomly. Maybe you should start tracking more precisely in order to help identify where you can change things?

Hi there, the time at which you eat at night will not effect weight gain/loss, I do think that maybe your calories are slightly high causing you to put on a little extra. If your calories are monitored and you’re in a deficit, the weight gain could just be water weight which will glycine and go. Best thing is to ensure your calories are correct and remember that we often eat 30% more calories than we think. Best wishes and good luck in your journey!

Hi there, I noticed that I remain on a plateau when I have my meals after 7pm. So, I now ensure that I have had supper by 7pm. Small change but it makes a huge difference:-) Ooo, also swap your dinner and breakfast

Thank you everyone for your input... I most certainly will try them and see what works for me. I stopped calories as I sometimes found it to be quiet an effort sometimes finding the correct measurement or the correct product... and it then seems to take over my mind... but considering the circumstances, I probably should go back to recording them again. Thank you for the encouragement. Again FS family thank you for taking the time out to respond, I am truly encouraged and look forward to getting into 71’s soon... 💪🏽

Sorry typo *Calorie counting...

I just was reading some comments and noticed a great idea that was shared by Ms Cornwall... she puts her meals on the app in advance... I did not think of that and that way I will be able to adjust if need be... thank you guys🙏

@MariaManoto. Putting my calories in ahead of time helped me with meal planning. When I first saw I only had 1300 per day (I am not very big), I thought: ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! But trying to work out what I could eat in advance meant I could stay under on most days. When I made something, I could see if I could use hard cheese or not, some times I needed to substitute cottage cheese to stay under calorie total. If I had a salad with my meal, I knew I could not put any dressing on it on that day... Or for example if I made mushroom stroganoff, I would know to stay within my daily calories I could have a 3/4 cup of brown rice and not a cup. It helped me to see how to vary ingredients and how much I could eat. Calorie counting although it SUCKS actually works and with time now, I can estimate my calories reasonably well for a meal before I enter the numbers. When I need help with my meals for the day, the ingredients go in the app before I start cooking.
