_KC's Journal, 25 Jan 22

I woke up surrounded by empty candy wrappers. I counted 8 that I could see so I don't know how many were hiding. I picked up the almost empty bag of Lindt Lindor Assorted Chocolates and read 230 calories per piece. I ate my daily recommended calorie allowance of almost 2,000 calories without my consent and barely had any knowledge. I thought it was all a very vivid dream.

Meanwhile, in other news, I have gained weight and I hate myself. This is great because discontentment is the first step in change. The problem is... I just want to binge eat, I don't want to starve anymore. I need a solution.

You’re only human. Please don’t be so hard on yourself. I’ve done the same thing countless times. Try upping your protein first and have the candy as a snack. You can do this! I believe in you!!

Starts with small changes, you can do it. And we all stress eat, try to limit it. And don’t hate yourself, write down small goals and then grow 😁😁

I just read your bio, you recently quit smoking! OMG that's fantastic. You'll lose the weight, give yourself time. I know the frustration you want the weight to go away now. So today work out five minutes more than yesterday. Start there.

Oh and congrats on quitting smoking, that’s a huge win. For me it was giving up soda.

There's no reason to starve yourself, with a calorie deficit you can eat the food you like, including chocolate. It's starvation diets that make people fail.

Once I started limiting carbs. per meal to 50 grams, I stopped having the urge to binge. I binged every day for years, but now the only time I binge is if I go over that limit.

I hear you on chocolate an dandy. Hate my guts and keep feeding it bigger by the minute. Why can't we just make friends with ourselves and treat ourselves right?

It’s ok to have cheat days. We had pizza the other night and felt terrible for eating it. Gained a couple pounds on the scale the next day but recovered quickly. Don’t punish yourself by not having cheat days or feeling too guilty for having a cheat day. Do, enjoy it, and then move on back to making progress! You got this, keep your head up!

I did that once with rice cakes....found pieces all over the room and in my covers...turned out to be the sleep aid I was prescribed (ambien).

I was the same. Everyday I used to eat the entire cookie package without even feeling the flavor. Too fast. Never satisfied. The only thing that helped was keto diet. I'm not telling you to do this or that. Just telling you may try different strategies.

We all have good days and not so good days. We are only human. The key to it all is to not beat ourselves up. We can't lose if we never quit! 🥸

Oh NO .... you cannot blame yourself for that one ... Lindt Lindor Assorted Chocolates --- oh come now ... those carry a Lindt magic spell that eliminates the ability to count and includes a zombie like state of being for several hours or until they are all gone. Welcome to the human race.
