I track our Covid numbers here in Orange County California.. a couple of days ago we hit the ZERO new cases and ZERO deaths. Woke up this morning to 1200+ new cases. I guess we will begin to see the extent of the post Thanksgiving damage in another week. I know what the death rate will be amongst the unvaccinated but I’m interested in seeing how the current vaccine will hold up against the newest variant that has already hit the USA. I feel for our medical teams. They were just getting to take a breather. Science and medicine are frantically working on adjusting the vaccine formula to cover this new one. I just keep doing what I have always done— pick my crowd, wear my kn95 mask in enclosed spaces, WASH my hands and I personally avoid eating in restaurants, but that was never a major habit for me anyway.
