QUESTION!!! Does this look right for me to lose 5kg, and how long will it take? The tool here calculated 1700 calories a day. I want to lose 5kg but happy to take it slow: over three months is fine. Isn't 1700 too high? (To note, I struggle to stick to 1500, so not complaining!) HELP!

judging by your height it would be possible however weighing under 70kg at your height will be a very difficult task. you are currently at a very stable weight for your age and height

Thanks for the help! Yes, I am not really overweight, just have a bit of a tire around my tummy. I have been Alcohol Free for a year now and got into my Pilates, walking and gym. But would like to shift the tummy before I hit 50! Lets see what happens. Will aim for 1600, as I don't do very well when I start restricting myself too much.

It depends how active you are... I wouldn’t aim to reach it but rather listen to your body, if you are at 1500 and feel fine, go for it. But if you’re very active, 1700 is what you need.

Hi NikNakNoNo, a good way to determine your daily calories is to find out what your base Calories are (The amount of calories you need per day to stay the weight you currently are). You establish your base calories by eating the same amount of food for a couple of days and see what your weight does. If your weight stays relatively the same for a few days on a set amount of calories you know that is your base calories.
Subtract about 500 calories from your base calories to lose weight and add 500 calories to gain weight. Lowering your calories with 500 will be easy to maintain over the long run. A good split for macros are 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat. This works for me and hope it helps

Hi. Mine was 1400 but gradually made it 1200 and even feel now that I can do with 1000 and still have all the healthy meals. But Mondays are always the difficult day as I cheat every Sunday to give it a jump start
