Gym Day 13: Shoulders and back

Its getting harder to loose digits on the scale.... not sure if its muscle growing or water retention from the body being under shock cause of the exercise.

What i have learnt on my journey is that changes take time to show effect.

Use photos. My weight went up when I started weight lifting. It's Normal. And it will come down again. When I started eating more consistently it returned to normal. I felt sick at first trying to hit 2000 cal or at least 1800. But it gets easier. Trust the process ☺️ nothing seems to deter you anyway 🎉

How many calories do you eat now and how many did you eat before starting weight lifting and strength training.. @iceynino and @fat Mike

@icey- yip, i figured this would happen... so not stressed. Whats amazing is how much stronger i am compared to 3 weeks ago. The process is working...

I ate 1400 and I would experience the water retention and only saw very slight definition after a whole month of training 😅 I took a friend's advice and upped my calories to 2000. I saw visible definition and v lines within 2 weeks. The water retention went away at the same time

Tx guys that's really useful to know. Have you added carbs icenino or are you still sticking to keto.

Ive added carbs beneficial to my macros and I time them for before work outs. So bananas, seeds, nuts, sweet potatoes and Greek yogurt. There were no side effects or rapid weight gain. I go over 100g at least once a week.

Well done on all your hard work! I wish I was at a point where I can do more exercise. You are an inspiration! Hang in there with the weight, it will come. Building Muscle might make you stand still on the scale for a short while, because it weighs more than fat, but the good news is it burns more call calories than fat, so you are turning your body into a calorie burning machine, and at some point, that is going to make those numbers on the scale drop like flies! Hang in there! You are doing great!

Agree 100%, just got to keep going. I like to look back at times when I was so happy to be at a certain weight or felt stuck at a weight and see how far I have come from that point. I look forward to when I'm 10kg down and most probably feeling stuck at a weight again!

and numbers on a scale won't be your only indicator on your progress. your training now, so there are other cool things happening to your body that are worth tracking. BMI, Muscle, Measurements... those also give great information 👌

@shereen- more motivating is the fact that im lift 4 times more weight than i was on day one, so not too worried about the number now... only entering it for journal purposes and tracking
