Hiking today and collected lots of citrus— everywhere we went we came across, oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit, pomegranate and my favorite, kumquats. Also, beautiful roses still blooming

This time of year there is a glut of citrus just hanging from trees everywhere— people just cannot begin to eat all that the trees produce. I have developed a relationship with a lot of these people along some of my walking routes and have asked permission to pick some of the bounty when I am passing through. Everyone always says, “help yourself”. A lot of people will pick the citrus, box it up and just set it by the curb for anyone to take.
