Reflecting on divorce. Like many, I had one of those sucky ones as well.— followed by about 5 years of continued suckiness. But, you never really get rid of that other person, there are always those occasions that require some semblance of adult behavior. He married a truly wonderful gal and she and I got along well and then he and I became friends. The daughter is now 43 and we are spending even more time with each other because of grand kids and milestone events.. we now look forward to going out to dinner and hanging around visiting whenever I need to fly to Dallas to attend these events— and it has certainly made our daughter’s life easier and less stressful..

My ex and I decided from the beginning we would make it as easy for our children as possible. We've always gotten together when the children come to town (plus, he & my brother-in-law are best friends), and he married a lovely woman who has become a good friend. You're so right Kenna, when there are children, the connection never really ends. We are all getting together for a week in May & it will be great fun!

What made you reflect on your divorce Kenna? I am glad your heart has become friends again with your past mate. Men should be careful how they treat their women, nature has given them examples to try to give them warnings. The praying mantis, the black widow, the drone bees, now tell me who is the superior one?😄😆 Glad all is well! 👍🌸

Shrewdness — I had read Hebrew’s post and saw the cute picture of his kids. Triggered all those memories of those post divorce years. Plus I will be headed to Texas later this month for the graduation of one of my SiIL’s boys. So once again the whole crew will be there. Plus I will get to see one of my best friends—- my daughter’s ex MIL.. the family picture we take each time we get together will include my SIL’s ex-wife, her husband and their two little kids . Funny how it can all work out when we try hard to make it happen.—
