Eataholic01's Journal, 23 Dec 20

Hi all, hope everyone is having a great week❤️

Just wanted to get a sense of what everyone is doing calorie wise for Christmas? I’m not sure whether I should not count on Christmas and have that as a cheat day or painfully suffer and only eat 1000 .

Any suggestions are welcome xx
Have a blessed Christmas! 💛

What I am doing is this : eating only Christmas lunch/dinner. Nothing prior or after. I know I like sweets so I eat handful of dinner and have desert rather. Priorities lol. Also going to fast until then and fast right after

My Christmas will definitely be a cheat day but I’m pushing hard at the gym also... hopefully all goes well 😊

Never! I am eating my eyes out on Christmas and then I’m back at my routine the next day

Pushing the workouts today and tomorrow and watching what I eat.Xmas day will be a rest day from it all. Will do a hit workout and Omad on boxing day.

I would make Christmas an active cheat day :) by making the conscious decision that you’re going to take the day off, you remove any potential guilt you may feel if you slip up! I think Christmas is especially difficult to avoid temptation. Maybe go for a nice walk in the morning so that it’s not a completely dud day. Enjoy yourself and how far you’ve come so far! Merry merry!

for me will have to be a cheat meal. I'm serving cold meats and salads with fresh bread rolls..... mosaic jelly served witn homemade peach ice cream......the food is not too bad.....But can't say no to my peach ice cream so cheat day it is......

Just remember a cheat DAY and a cheat MEAL are very different. A entire day can ruin a lot of progress. And make you put on stubborn fat. It’s easier to limit oneself extremely and break that limit than to apply a no limit policy as flying off the handle is likely to occur. A day can turn into a week and a month and snowball further. Just my 2 cents

probably skip breakfast, have lunch and some beer and then top up my kJ to 6000 when I get home if I am under. should be possible.

Well I’ll just eat like I usually do I’ll have my breakfast and a little extra at lunch have a drink or to and probably just have a tea in the evening but won’t over for it.

You know... eating 1000 calories over your daily expenditure only makes you gain around 100g of fat... sometimes even less. Idk about you but holidays are supposed to be enjoyed without stressing and thinking too much about it. Personally, I’m gonna eat the good food and get back on track the next day 💪🏽💃🏽. If you don’t have cheat days then you’re just making your brain believe that this journey isn’t a life style but an actual diet. Be more lenient and you’ll enjoy it (my opinion)

A diet is supposed to put you in uncomfortable positions. It’s a diet for a reason. One diets in such a way that it creates habit and that habit becomes a life style. Thus having a cheat day actually creates the illusion of it being a diet not a life style. The opposite to what you state. I’ve been doing this for over 2 years. And not only have I maintained but I have bettered. Cheat DAY is not necessary and the satisfaction from performing an entire day will break habit. Also 1000 cal over does not equate to that amount of fat as it depends on what was eaten to equal the 1000 cal....

Lol, look sister, I said in my opinion firstly. Secondly, each person works differently. What keeps you going is different from what keeps us going. Restriction for the rest of your life ain’t it for me. Balance is ☺️ But thanks for your opinion. I’m sure she’ll do what makes her HAPPY 😃

Haha you stated fact incorrectly. I just corrected it 🤷🏻‍♀️(Calories equalling To fat) and yes. She is entitled to do what she wants but certain things are proven while others are not. 😜

I’m with the lifestyle train on thought. Not the diet. One day of overeating didn’t make us overweight. But all please do enjoy your days tomorrow and whichever path you choose to follow. Stay safe

On the life style vs diet debate, I am 100% for diet only. Once I hit target I am going back to my pizza munching, burger guzzling and beer chugging days! If I gain the 10kg back over 2 years then so be it, back to dieting it will be then.

Okay guys, watch this video and let an EXPERT tell you FACTS. 1000 extra calories= 100g or less fat gain. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jz0OzRLF1vM Don’t feel guilty about your one day splurge ☺️ Dont restrict yourself and you’ll stay happy From PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. We all work differently
