6.4 quake centered about 150 miles from Anaheim— just 90 miles from my Ranch. Not a normal epicenter. We had a chandelier that swayed. Started as a ripple and crescendoed. In the scope of things it lasted a while— maybe 10 seconds.

Southern California has very little risk of a tsunami. We can have coastal flooding but probably not tsunami. Northern California, Oregon and Washington is a whole different story. They are dealing with the Cascadia range.. 1964 was the big Alaska quake— I remember it well. Tsunami that wiped out a city that sits right on the border of N and S California. Wiped it out completely.

We felt significant 'rolling' in Pasadena. Seems like it would take a 9+ to really get our attention. I did the Northridge quake in Anaheim back in 94'. That was a 6 like today, but, I guess 'location matters' when it comes to earthquakes..

I live 130 miles south of the earthquake and we felt it, plus many little aftershocks. I save water, but my husband throws it all away. I think I am just of pioneer stock and it's in my blood to prepare. He says I'm just fearful. I can't stop him, so we will just die a little sooner than others. Yes, I have quite a bit of food, but as you say, it doesn't do any good without water. A boyfriend of a cousin says he doesn't need to save food or water because he has a gun.

Survival statistics tell us that should there be a major collapse of our world, it will only take 3 -4 days for mankind to revert to our more primitive selves. . Killing our next door neighbors for water. One of our biggest external threats will be packs of dogs that will quickly revert to their wolf ancestry and stalk us for food. No trash pick up, disease carrying rats, etc. I have a rifle a 30-06. But eventually you run out of bullets. But first of all deal with the WATER situation.

Where in Los Angeles, but we’re staying at a friends house in the hills so we didn’t feel it. But my neighbors Downtown sure did feel it

By now I’m guessing everyone knows that we had another, bigger quake last night - a 7.1 and it lasted for 40 seconds. Started as a roll and escalated. Same epicenter, the little town of RIDGECREST in the desert about 150 miles from me.. the news said that we have had more than 600 aftershocks since last night. Only felt a few.
