my heart started beating weird and i got really cold and clammy on the elliptical today. i got super shakey and suddenly wanted to eat badly. i decided to leave the gym...the way i was feeling i shouldn't have been there...i wouldn't have been able to perform well anyway i was so shakey....got half hour cardio in and that's enough for this morning. i might try to get another half hour in after work if i feel up to it. im thinking i might be dehydrated and electrolytes off due to losing 15lbs water weight in just a few days...i had a quest protein bar and going to have a pickle and water....I'm probably pushing it a bit too much after being off for so long...already so sore everywhere

Take Care! When I first started fasting I had periods of 'woozy','lethergy' ect. I started taking an expensive electrolyte supplement throughout the day and all problems gone.

Sounds like a smart move to leave the gym. Hope you're feeling better, Sharon! SOOO glad to see you back at taking care of yourself! Yesterday, I had my FIRST successful day in over a month and a half! Feels so good to be "back." AND, it feels good to have YOU back, too! Keep up the good work, Sharon! Maybe be thinking about some NON-drinking activities to look forward to this weekend, so you won't be tempted to party with friends. Maybe go to a movie (and take your own munchies and water). Whatever you need to do to keep on track -- DO it! You now know how very HARD it is to get back ON track, and neither of us wants to have to do that again! I've got my eye on you, little sister! You're STILL my hero and role model! Someday, I'm gonna have a "Sharon body!"

I actually started to feel like that too. But I didn’t get the urge to eat I landed in the hospital for dehydration and the flu. Which I never had any symptoms with the flu. Drink plenty of water and rest

Just making it to the gym and getting 30 min of cardio is better than most. Way to bounce back after a rough weekend. This too shall pass.

Glad that you listened to your body and didn't push it. When I fell like that I know it means I need to test my blood sugars...usually low and I need to put fuel in the tank.

I hope you feel better soon - and yes 15 lbs is a lot in a short time! good for you though for taking notice of what your body needs!

🤗 hey good you listened to yourself. Get better. You know, cardio... there is a set better thing. ..weights will still work on your heart yet they will build your muscle... just saying.

It's likely a blood sugar drop - you burn the sugar as you exercise and you got depleted today - glycogen stores. You likely will be fine - drink plenty of water. It sometimes happens to me when I push too hard. Be at the gym, and be gentle on yourself. It is not penance.

I am not working out like I'm punishing myself I promise! BUT - I did try to go harder than I was before I stopped going a month ago...and really I shouldn't be doing that I guess...I just know I'm strong and capable so I do crap like that...but sometimes I just need to ease in to stuff and not try to hit the ground running. This morning I was sitting in a bath after the gym trying to feel better and I started thinking about how bad I treat my poor body sometimes...gorging on food doing crazy stuff to insulin probably and then BAM right back to low carb over and over and over and then trying to act like an Olympic athlete after a month off...oy.

I agree with HCB. In the past whenever I would go off plan and have way too many bad carbs for a few days, I would "detox" by not having any. Day 2 would always bring a little shakiness and a headache. For the first 2-3 days I would refrain from and vigorous exercise because I knew my body was trying to cope with a sudden change.

I was going to say it sounds like your blood sugar was dropping. What you explained is exactly what happens to me when I drop. Keep glucose tablets close. It's a few more carbs I know but it could prevent you from passing out or going in to a hypoglycemic coma.

kissangelgirl - yeah I think that's what I should try to do in the future. My poor body I'm so horrible to it sometimes :(

Eat something salty if you haven’t in a while - that usually helps me. Another thing to check for (if this persists for a few days) is low iron.

My first thought was this could be your heart. Be careful. Heart attacks in women are more common than most realize. Those symptoms were not normal. Be watchful Sharon for anything like this again and maybe see a doctor to be sure.
