Contemplating a membership at Anytime Fitness. Anyone have likes or dislikes about these locations? Was thinking they might be good for someone that travels extensively like myself?

If you like the gym atmosphere, then it would seem like a win win for you. they seem to be everywhere. I would doublecheck that they are close to your travel route and that they all accept your membership from a different local. then check the place out. never been there. even if they are busy a lot of the time, I am sure you could find time to get the place less busy

I used to belong to one and I liked it, but I did discontinue my membership because I joined the YMCA where I could bring my kids while I work out. I have no complaints about Anytime Fitness!

Long story, but basically i took a boot camp there w/o joining. The bootcamp was fine. They tried to harangue me into joining for the whole time, but i literally never ascertained how much it would cost. It was worse than buying a car. But ppl love it. My friend and her husband love it. I don't like the gym, but if it were me, i would look into planet fitness. (I am not affiliated with any gyms, lol.) Good luck!

Not familiar to be either. I use 24 hour fitness as my backup for when I travel. They are everywhere.

I go to the ymca. They have a thing where you can show your card at any ymca in the country and workout there for a small fee. $5 I think but I’m not sure if that’s daily, weekly or what. It costs us $62 a month for two adults and 3 children. I’ve been to two. Both had lots of free weights and dumbbells, weight machines, treadmill, 1-3 styles of bikes, steppers and 1 or two I’m not sure what they are. Ours also has free child care 8:10-12 and 4-8 M-Th and Friday is an hour less as they close at 7. Not sure on weekends as I haven’t taken the little one with me. Ours also offers many classes throughout the day, a kiddie pool, hot tub, lap pool, 3 basketball courts, pickle ball, wall ball, sauna (in women’s locker room, not sure on men’s as they threw me out when I tried to sneak in haha jk) and an IZone for 5-16 year olds with games and smaller equipment more their size. Pretty awesome for our family.

Yeah anytime fitness is the largest national chain. I may have to use it on weekends mostly Due to job travel requirements.

Peeperjj that is exactly why I joined the Y as well since it is family friendly. I bring the girls during open swim too.

I dropped my membership - not enough of the equipment I like; they push using PTs; and too many loud grunting weightlifters.
