hi guys. i just joined this community, that's why my current starting weight is listed as what it is. but i was at 84.4kgs when i started my weight loss programme in february 2018 and i'm now at 65kg, aiming for 50-55kg as my target weight. it's nice to see so many people around here staying motivated and supporting each other ♡
just a question. how do you guys control the urge to binge eat? i have a terrible weakness for crunchy things, especially cereals and savoury snacks 😭

Lately I've been struggling with that a lot as well, especially to "reward" myself for something for example a tough workout. What helps me is to remember what I'm doing this for. It's not for the fun of it. It's to get the body and lifestyle I want for me. You've already accomplished so much, and when you feel like binging remember that every time you do you sabotage the progress you've made so far. You've got this, your results prove that already, just keep going.

shoo, you're right. definitely easier to convince myself of that when i hear it from someone else who's in the same position! everyone around me doesn't know that i struggle with this, they're only watching the surface and my progress, so this helps heaps. thank you

Wow 20kg lost, that's big achievement. I make sure that I don't skip breakfast and my lunch/dinner is filling. if I get this right I don't have cravings or binge eat nor have the need for snacking between meals.

wow!!19kgs!! so fast, don't give up, - see why you are binging...is it emotional? don't let it ruin all the hard work you put in...try to make an end goal / date, checkin every day on a calendar - weight?, diet 100% or not? training on schedule? take pictures every saturday... but put a goal date...stay focused.

thank you, @Sthesh 😊
@ Yolandibiekie, i have a good schedule! i eat healthy most of the time and i love it. a shake for breakfast, whole foods for two meals after and i drink water, decaf coffee and herbal tea only. exercise 3-4 times a week. it's just that after some time, i get uncontrollable cravings then snack on something that i make myself believe i earned and then land up eating more of it than i should have. i'm motivated to reach my goal, but my worry from here is, when i reach it, will i be able to maintain it?? but definitely, i will keep your words in mind! the more i hear it from others, the more helpful it is ♡

forsure, make sure its not emotional try to establish why you think you need it :) make sure you get in carbs, protein and fats so that you are balanced and not need more nutrition and try to get it from other sources...but you are so far, so what is stopping you, just be unstoppable babe!!!!!!!!!! you inspire others this way <3

i make my own biltong. but i make sure its nice fatty pieces... if i have a huge craving which i tend to get every 3d or 4th day... i have a piece... the fat kills the craving.

2 kg meat
100 ml brown sugar
30 ml coarse salt
125ml crushed coriander seeds
125 ml red wine vinegar
1 tbsp cracked black pepper
1 tbles paprika or chilli flakes
INSTRUCTIONS
Use a good quality meat like silverside or topside
Slice the meat, with the grain into 1cm thick x 2cm wide strips and about 20cm in length and rub thoroughly with the vinegar.
Mix the salt, sugar, crushed coriander seeds, black pepper and paprika together in a bowl to form a rubbing mixture.
Rub the spice mixture into the pieces of meat.
Take a glass or stainless steel container and layer the meat, making sure the the thicker pieces are at the bottom.
Cover the container with cling film and refrigerate for about 12 hrs mixing every couple of hours so that the meat flavours evenly.
Hang up to dry in a well ventilated spot.
Biltong Machines for home use work very well.
Drying time is about 4-5 days, depending on the weather, and your personal preference.
If you dont feel like cutting the meat yourself, food lovers market does a pre cut pack... just spice, hang and enjoy.

Mapaseka T...buy a biltong making box on Take a lot, (if in SA)your butcher could be helpful on the right meat cuts 4 process..we put the meat in a vinegar solution(some ppl add worchestersauce)then add spices directly, both sides of pieces... oven roasted coriander, blackpepper and salt(or chilli) Leave for 8hours in container-take meat out and hang in box. Switch box on(light and fan inside)- In 3 days you could have biltong ready to slice! Don't trust ready 2 buy biltongspices some have added sugar and other nasties.
