I bought an electronic scale about three months ago - much better than those silly dial scales. My weight has been a steady 63.5kg. I haven't been logging food since early-October, although I've been eating much the same. I'm keen to play around with different ratios so I'm logging again. I've definitely found that I benefit from cutting out starches in terms of improved digestion and reduced bloating. I do miss fruit - but I also find that keeping my overall sugar intake lower just makes me feel better.

Thanks Celeste ;) My weight is generally stable - within 1kg. All depends too on the sports I'm primarily doing... running, paddling, aerial... I don't think my weight has varied by more than 2kg in the past 10 years. Lighter is definitely better for running but I just don't seem to lose the kilograms on LCHF (ok, so I'm not exactly eating HF)... And it doesn't make sense to me that on 1000-1200 kcal a day I'm at a steady weight? Sure, all calories are not created equal but this is ridiculous. I should be eating like 1800kcal. I haven't been hungry in months and I'm running A-ok. I just don't get it. So, I'm going to play around with my food a bit and see what happens. I don't think I'm carb intolerant, which is one explanation, but low carb definitely makes me feel better. Suggestions?

You are only 2.5kg from goal weight, and generally the closer you are to goal weight the harder it is. The older you are the more stubborn the body becomes. Young ppl lose weight easily, their metabolisms are faster and they haven't endured years and years of "dieting" I would suggest you have 1 - 2 lower calorie days per week (just an idea) It's possible that your body really is very happy at 63.5kg i.e. the set point. I'm sure it could be adjustable - best bet is to look online. Keep in touch and let me know how you are getting a long.

I think you're right. My body is very happy at 63.5kg. I took a flyer at 61kg as a goal but for no other reason than it sounds nice. I don't have any tyres, I'm fit and strong and healthy and my weight is very stable and body fat is in the lower range (ignore that BMI nonsense - it puts me at overweight plus). About 15yrs ago I was 61kg - but I wasn't doing the same sports I am now (more endurance sports now vs high intensity swim discipline then). I'm more muscular now and far stronger. So, 62.5-64kg is most likely my realistic goal weight anyway...
