It's that time of year. Close to Thanksgiving and Christmas and all the eating problems that can happen. And when the weather is colder, I tend to eat heavier meals. Didn't you say you were wearing a size 4? Sometimes a size goal is a better way to gage success than a weight. I've been drinking 8 oz of apple cider the last 3 days. Hot apple cider. Just something about this time of year. No nutritional benefit - not even a gram of fiber or protein. No vitamins - nothing but sugar. The bottle I bought is almost gone so I won't buy any more, but I'll finish it. Maybe I'll only have 4 ounces though. As a kid my dad always bought apple cider in October/November so maybe it's nostalgia (he died last year) keeping me connected to him and what we shared. You've accomplished so much and when you weigh yourself daily you will see the ups and downs. My weight fluctuates about 3 pounds just during the day. I know I'm rambling but my intent is to offer support and belief you will continue to move forward with your goals.

Yes, the pants still fit but last week I went shopping and came home with 4 bags of chcolate candies, two packs of bagels, waffles, and pancakes. I have been eating it since :( I'm pretty good during the day but when evening comes.... that's when the binging begins. I can finish one sharing size bag of m&ms in two settings. I had donuts, chcocolate chip cookie and coffee cakes during staff conference at school two days ago, small bites. I'm still trying to control myself every night with little success though. My best bet is not to bting it home. I don't know what I was thinking when I came home with those sinful goodies, no nutritional values but extremely comforting. I always say I'll take only one piece but ended up with a good handful. It will take longer for me to reach my goal but I'm going to get there.

Food is such a drug! Tomorrows a new day. You will get back on track. I don't trust myself with that much temptation. Still learning the sweet art of "moderation." So, I buy single servings of things if I want something sweet so it's no more left sitting in my kirchen and beckoning me to come get more.

Thsiun-Your shopping trip sounds like mine when I put the diet "on hold". But I always end up buying too much and I don't stop thinking about the food until it's gone. If I buy 2 half gallons of ice cream because they are 2 for $7 I will likely finish them within 3 or 4 days. Since signing up on FS I haven't had shopping trips like that other than my potato chip feasts. And I used to have those every 2 weeks or so, but can now go without much longer. I bought bagels too last week and have been having them every morning. But as soon as I got them home I cut them into quarters and put them in freezer bags. I usually have a quarter bagel in the morning with cream cheese and hot chocolate. Sounds like a "cheat" breakfast but the small portion of bagel really works for me and the hot chocolate seems to be enough sweets to keep those cravings at bay. For me it is best not to have much bad stuff in the house. A couple months ago when I was craving ice cream, instead of buying it at the grocery store I went to the local coffee and ice cream parlor in town for a cone with one scoop. That way I satisfied my craving but didn't have any ice cream in the house. I'm retired so no longer have the food temptations that were always at work - the bagels, donuts, pizza. We'd always get food if we'd work overtime.

Take a few moments (and breathe) - then, promise yourself that you'll not shop for ANYTHING unless it's written down on a piece of paper... it's the ONLY way I have to keep the crap out of my house.

We live most of the time in a motorhome, tiny fridge solves that problem lol!

it usually goes like this for me... one bite leads to one piece and ends up with half a dozen...talking about cookies that are 3" in diameter! Soooooo predictable but I fall for it each time! There must be another mechanism for me to combat stress 😖

Wouldn't it be nice if we were able to have a small, say 4 oz glass of milk and just dunk ONE oreo cookie in it and be satisfied? Put the oreos away for someone else to finish.
