Surgeon appt was yesterday and I am so mad at him lieing to me and my hubby I will find another surgeon who can fix my knee...
Long Post FYI just wanted you to know:::::
last month was the first time I saw that new surgeon my Dr referred me to since he quit right when I was supposed to be talking about surgery since I lost the weight he said I definitely need surgery..sent me to new surgeon since he quit the facility and the new surgeon said let's do a cortisone shot and if it doesn't work then I know what I need to do and even stated that I have end stage degeneration from osteoarthritis and multiple bone spurs that would need surgery but only concern he had was me being 45yr old we talked about it and our conversation came out to do shots if it don't help we will do surgery and yesterday I went in told him the shot didn't work. I tried to tell him last visit I've done those shots many times and it doesn't seem to help.
anyway he's like well if the shot didn't help I'm thinking it could be from somewhere else like a pinched nerve in your back or something, I told him I've been having problems with the knee for 7yrs now I don't have pain going from the back to my knee, actually it goes from my knee to my calf it's burning throbbing pain from arthritis and then he said I need wait till I am 65yr old to have surgery first off I'll be in wheel chair by then and not able walk at all and he said because I am 45 he thinks I need to wait, so I'm supposed to stay in miserable pain for 20 more years to satisfy him. fuck him I will find a new surgeon who will help Me fix me knee ....I did make new appt with new surgeon for April 5th so I need a few prayers that he can fix my knee and do the surgery.

So sorry to hear of your troubles and suffering. While my experience with doctors has been mostly positive, I've encountered a few who've wasted my time like that, it's infuriating! Hope your new doctor turns out to be exactly what you need. 💚💜💛

Makes me wonder how he would react to some of us who were born with RA. i knew a girl when i was 16 who had multiple replacement surgeries already. At this specific summer camp we were all 15-17. I'm lucky enough to not be one of the MANY who had at least 1 prior to turning 18, but i knew so many.

At the new dr - be sure to take a list (with dates) of how many times you've already had the cortisone shots - and that they don't work! If he starts talking like that's the first step.... again..... don't let him go there. Advocate for yourself!! This is your life and your health!! And yes, sometimes you have to be downright rude about it. If he starts talking cortisone I would not be above asking: So, if the first two/three/four shots didn't work - what makes you think it will miraculously work this time?
