Not recording the weight today as I know I'm bloated from water intake yesterday..I had a Dr appt yesterday and she wanted to check my kidneys I knew ahead ti.e I would have to pee. so when I first got up I forgot to hold my pee. And then I started drinking water and had to drink 3 bottle of water before I had the urge to urinate and when I went to the Dr and came home I was still bloated from the water and I weighed myself it was 310.6 that's about 4lbs of water, and I drank more water during the day...Woke up this morning and scale was up 3lb from yesterday so I can still feel the bloating and that's crazy as I ate about 1800mg of sodium and about 100g of carbs, both are less than I normally eat and yet the scale was still up 3lb so I definitely know it's from water and I'm not recording the weight until it goes down hopefully its back down 👇 in the morning and I feel better....

Ugh waited couple hours drank 1 bottle water so far and scale hasn't changed still up 3lb from the water I drank yesterday...I don't know why but I have days like this where I drink alot of water the day before and that day and the next it shows a 2-3lb gain on the scale and it usually takes a few days to get the water back off my body....

Sara, a few years back I did a weight of everything I put in my mouth for 24 hours. I weighed the food, the coffee, the water....everything. It was a total of 13 lbs. That weight did not show up on the scale because I was eliminating properly. We measure our fluids by fluid ounces, a gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds all by it's lonesome. So, if for any reason your body is not eliminating or processing waste like it should, you can see a very dramatic increase in your weight on a daily basis, don't stress about it. As long as your 7 day average is on a downward trend you are fine!!!

There are literally thousands of reasons you might be holding onto water, hormones, sodium intake too high or too low, potassium too high or too low, stress, exercise, medications, drinking too much water, drinking not enough water......there are too many to list. The bottom line is, if you are eating right, drinking enough fluids and adding movement every day, it will go down.

Thanks Debra for your help I didn't eat even the recommended sodium intake yesterday but I knew as soon as I started drinking water and had to drink 3 bottles just to pee for my Dr appt that I was holding on to water and it never went down 👇 this morning weight read 309.6 I'm not recording it because I know it is water and will go back down at least in a couple days..oh and I had only eaten about half the carbs yesterday that I normally eat about 70g more on carbs so those were light..but today I have been dehydrated because I drank 3 bottles of water and it's only 11am my mouth has been so dry its crazy and I have to drink water ... I know it should go back down 👇 at least in a couple days and I am hoping when it does I'll be under the 305 that I was just a couple days ago, hopefully I will loose and have a good drop ...Thank you for all your help I've learned so much from you and your journey ,you inspire me to try my best and do better....

just know my friend, if you are not drinking enough water, you will retain water also, so if your mouth is dry and you are thirsty, drink. At a gallon per day, I was drinking too much water...flushing my electrolytes out of my system faster than I could put them back in, at a half gallon per day, I was not drinking enough my lower back would hurt, my urine was amber colored and the skin on the back of my hand would not smooth out quickly after pinching....I moved to about 90 ounces of water per day, including the water I get from foods.....which FS does not track and I seem to be more balanced...not constantly running to go pee, getting up 3 or 4 times a night to do the same, the color is a light yellow now and I don't have lower back pain. With both excess water and with reduced water, I had edema...swelling in my legs. The 90 oz per day has pretty much eliminated that too. It's hard to find balances when you don't get enough intake information from your tracking!

I have congestive heart failure, so I have to watch salt, fluids, cholesterol. weight gain like that means I fell off the wagon somewhere and where's the lasix.. this site says not to weigh daily, but I have to, I can catch fluid retention early.

Sorry you are having this hassle. I know I don't drink enough water. Hope this levels out for you and that you find your sweet spot of how much water is right for you.
