SherryeB's Journal, 02 Dec 23

I had my follow-up appointment with my cardiologist yesterday. We had a good conversation & for now, my next step is to see the heart rate specialist in January.

After my appointment, I shopped for festive paper plates & napkins for our family Christmas party. I also bought a strand of faux greenery to use for my Holiday decor. I used some of it to make a candle ring for the kitchen table. Then I stopped at Kroger for a few groceries & to get gas.

I was almost home....about 10 minutes when I came upon an accident that had just happened. A vehicle was blocking the road in the direction I was driving. Cars were coming thru in the other lane, but there was too much traffic to go around. A bunch of emergency vehicles started arriving & finally, they told us to make a U turn & leave. In spite of living here for 27 years, I couldn't think of an easy alternative route to get home. The route I ended up taking got me home about an hour later than I should have been. That may have included the time I waited before turning around. I'm not even sure at this point. I hadn't eaten since breakfast, other than a " That's it" fruit bar. This was about 6:30 PM & I left the house around noon.

We had planned to go to the Gym today, but I just wasn't feeling it. It was wet & rainy and we were running a little late. I even started getting ready by gathering towels for our gym bags. We decided to aim for tomorrow instead.

Instead, I worked on the Christmas decorations. I hauled the boxes out of the attic....that has to count for some exercise. I put the lighted garland on the mantel & added a few things to the decor I had created with pieces I'd bought this year. I hung ornaments on the smaller alpine tree and worked on decorating the big tree in the dining room. Still have a fair amount to do, but it's a start.

Decorating makes my lower back hurt, so I have to take breaks every so often. I was tired after all I did today, so dinner ended up being a frozen pizza. It is one of my favorites & I added sliced tomatoes & onions.

Off to bed now 😴

Hope you had a good rest!

Not much rest, Liv, but that was OK. Making progress on the decorating is more important. We're hosting our family Christmas party on the 17th. My daughter is flying in the evening of the 15th, so I need everything finished by then. Of course the sooner it's done, the sooner I can sit back & enjoy it 😊
