NSV:: calories yesterday were 1030, carbs were 100.5g, protein was 51g need more protein for sure. And about 3hours away from fasting 16hours.
All this with being at the hospital with my mother in law she fell and got hurt fractured her shoulder, so we we're there from 8am til 4pm and the only thing that the cafeteria had to eat was mostly pie, and cake slices, with pasta and meatballs and lasagna, and few other high carb items and sugary drinks and items. except they had a McDonald's on the inside of it. so I had 2 chicken nuggets and a cheeseburger but took off most of the bun.
so my calories could be lower than what I logged. And I didn't get hungry at all so today I will be trying to lower my calories and carbs again. No my dew starting off with water.
Update I made it 16hrs fasting and still wasn't very hungry so I cut my portion size down again today for breakfast. I'm using resistance bands for my arms to try and gain muscle and try to help get rid of the bat wings(flabby skin) under my arms it's awful and something I hate.

I hope your MIL is doing better, it's one of the things I worried about while I had vision issues, falling and breaking something that I really need. The fear of falling still hits me when I am going up and down steps. I can see now and my pain is less, but the fear still hits me on steps. Hospital food, it's a shame what they serve in hospitals. You would think a place of healing would offer more healthy choices. While my mom was in there, they had her on an 1800 calorie diabetic diet and they served her things like grits, rice, mashed potatoes and gravy, breaded chicken and gravy drowned hamburger steak, canned peaches swimming in syrup, then they would be all concerned about her blood sugar jumping up and giving her more insulin. I just shook my head because questioning the nurses and dieticians got me the same answer....it does not matter what she eats as long as she does not go over 1800 calories, when the evidence of the glucose spikes was staring them in the face. No wonder diabetics get worse in the hospital. Glad you were able to clean up the fast food a little so the impact would not be so high! Cudos on the fasting!! Excellent on the resistance bands. I have those bat wings too....I'm working on them!

Great progress, Sara! When I HAVE to choose something from McDonald's, that's exactly what I do. Get a burger & lose the bun & ketchup. Mayo & mustard are great on LC. I have the bat wings, too. I was telling my nephew the other day if I could choose only one place to lose weight, it would be there. My second spot would be my back tittys! 🤣🫣 No worries, we will get there, ladies!!! 💜 I hope your MIL is doing better also!

...and AWESOME JOB skipping the Mt Dew!!! That was my favorite soda, too. It's the worst one of all from what I've read.

Yes yes! Sorry I didn't mention it, that is awesome Sara!!! Dumping the Mt. Dew it's such a big step and it will be harsh for a few days, but you are worth it!!!!

Hope she does better. The food in the hospital is terrible 😔. I would not eat much when was in there it was a problem it wasn't healthy at all. I lost three pounds in six days I was there 😞 back in March. They tried to tell me they were serving health foods but all I saw was potatoes, cookies, meat? product in sauce, and canned vegetables.

It's amazing and distressing how unhealthy hospital cafeteria food is.

Thank you ladies she is doing okay but now she has shingles just since being admitted in the hospital and we have to wear a mask, gown, gloves if we go see her today. They are having to feed her by hand as she fractured her right shoulder and can't move it and that's the hand she eats with an she had already fell about couple months ago and tore her rotary cuff in the left shoulder and is still healing from that. I guess we are leaving soon to go to the hospital but I will be not touching anything in the room as shingles is contagious and I know I'll have gloves on but I have a immunocompromised immune system anyway from my thyroid and R. a. It's not been to bad without the Mt dew this morning except I need caffeine as I am getting a headache from it so I'm going to have to drink coffee which I don't like but I will handle it for one black cup and be good to go. OMG back titties I got that too and my lower back kinda folds into and it's fat from the weight I gained but it's starting to get back to being straight again.

Yes she's diabetic and the food they served her yesterday was all starches and sugar I can't believe it they need to be serving healthier food for sure even my husband was like nah I'm good I'll go eat a cheeseburger and he's 160lb very skinny and eats whatever he wants and never gains a pound.

OMGoodness!!! One of my customers just got over the shingles! She had them BAD all over her arms, hands, back and chest. she was so miserable. She thought she had poison ivy from mowing, but shingles was the diagnosis. 5 weeks now she has been suffering and now has numbness in her right forearm and hand. Bless her heart as if the broken shoulder was not bad enough! The only thing green on my mom's plates at the hospital were canned green beans and sometimes some steamed broccoli. It was for the most part mostly sugars and starches. I don't understand it, even schools now are offering healthier meals to the kids. For what they charge for a hospital stay the patients should be eating steak and lobster! I am gonna climb down off my soapbox.....but geeze really?? Be careful while visiting, so many superbugs running loose in the Hospital. I would leave and go eat somewhere they had a salad bar, even eating there might cause contamination if you are immune suppressed. Well, I guess a salad bar would not be much better as it's open to all the folks filling their plates! Bag lunch maybe????
