Is the carnivore diet meant to make you gain weight?

Weight gain or loss can happen on any diet, it all comes down to the energy balance. This bump in weight is due to Christmas feasting 😅 typically most people lose weight on carnivore because it makes staying in a calorie deficit without being hungry easier (ketosis, protein satiety, thermogenesis, etc) . It'll drop back down fairly quickly 😏 just need to behave in New Years then lol

Weight gain can be due to muscles as well, isn’t it? Not necessarily fat? Stand to be corrected

I wouldn't say it's muscle gain in this case, pure contractile muscle tissue doesn't develop that quickly. In some cases (people who are new to training or athletes coming back from injury or long rest) muscle gain or regrowth can skew weigh in results over a few weeks.. but in this instance it's stored water and food 😅

Thanks for that informative response. It’s very enlightening but equally funny how you put it. Lol 😂😂 funny but I guess honesty is good in that we get to correct and make better food choices going forward, and learn from others like I did from you👍

Dustin, how do you keep up with your protein and fats intake? I really admire your meals and food prep’s but somewhat struggling to reach my daily protein of 50% and fats at 30% (is that even realistic goal)?. I only exceed my carbs intake of 20% sometimes but have so far not reach full quota of proteins. Protein seem too much. I have never eaten so much protein. How else can improve?

@Cgjkz, Im struggling to reach 25% protein without upping my carb intake. Kudos to you for aiming at 50%.

@graieleyz I have the same problem too. I have to date not reached the 50% protein daily set target. Not sure how I will eventually get there. I try to stay away from ready made meals due to sugars and carbs and home made meals are getting boring/ repetitive and way too much protein. I know I’m complaining but helps blow off some steam. Will try again tomorrow 🤞😂😂

Yes, each day is an opportunity to try again.
