For the past 2 months my weight loss has been slow. I have come so close to reaching my GW. Being stuck at a weight loss plateau can be very frustrating and demotivating sometimes.

Any advise on how to break a weight loss plateau would be highly appreciated.

I’ve heard peeps on this app suggest changing your calorie intake. So if you were starving yourself, eat a bit more. If you were overeating, eat a bit less. Try that for a week or 2 and see if it changes. Also changing up your activity levels could help you out of the plateau.

Thank you so much for that suggestion. I’m trying to increase my calorie intake as I had been somewhat eating much less than I should. I’m really hoping to see results.

Hey there. What helped me to overcome my 6 months plateau was doing 16/8 Intermittent Fasting and increasing the intensity of my workouts.

@rmalimabe Thank you so much for your input. I can definitely give IF a try. How long would you recommend doing it for?

For most days, I target to fast for at least 16 hours and have an 8 hour eating period. So I usually eat between 12 and 8pm. It wasn't an easy transition for me though because I was a breakfast person but over time, the body adjusted. If you want to have a smooth transition maybe you can start with fasting for 13 hours maybe then increase your fasting hours weekly till you get to the your target fasting hours.

there is another app which is very nice, called monitor your weight. I use this together with Fat secret. In the app you enter your current weight and your ideal weight you also then put in the date you want to reach your goal weight. The app calculates how much calories you will have to take in per day to reach goal then obviously use Fat secret to enter your food and weight calculation.

I have an app called My Weight which I use to keep track of my progress. However, the RDI is over 2000 cals per day which I think is way too high. So I’ve reduced it. But as suggested, I’ll keep tracking calorie intake and try IF consistently. I’m crossing fingers for a positive outcome. Thank you everyone.

Certainly😅. I‘ll try doing OMAD. Or one meal and a snack, and see how it goes. Thank you

OMAD works very well for me, especially together low carb eating and keeping calories at a reasonable deficit. Good luck 🍀

Thanks Jaxanne. OMAD is indeed effective. I’m really hoping to get through it for the next week or two🤞🏽
