davidsprincess's Journal, 24 Aug 22

Yesterday I spent about 7 hours driving or stopped in traffic. My stepfather's appointment showed the cancer has not spread- though there is a 50% chance of it recurring in 5 years. We will cross that bridge when we come to it. He will have surgery to remove it in September. We went to Culver's on the way home and I was proud of myself for having a cranberry bleu cheese salad with chicken instead of a burger. It was far less calories and was awesome. But then when I got home- I guess from having only slept until 2:45 a.m. and leaving at 3:30 a.m. and no sleep and wanting to eat to celebrate the good news- I ate all night long- including the Blizzard of the Month which was a Take 5. YUM! Probably the best blizzard I ever had. This morning my face is fat as shit and bloated and gross... and so I decided to eat 2 pieces of cold pizza because that is the dumb shit I do. I must be premenstrual. The house is a wreck. I have a wedding Saturday that I am dreading attending. And that wraps up this week. Also- 3 days of NO CAFFEINE at all- except whatever was in my blizzard had zero positive effects. I will resume having my morning coffee tomorrow. I think maybe it even had negative affects.

Glad you got good news! At least once a week my wife suggests we go get a Blizzard. I never heard of Take 5. But I don’t think I’ve been this year. I typically get Moose Tracks at the store when I break over. But my goto Blizzard is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

I am sorry to hear about the cancer in your family. And a 5 year expendency. My friend had breast cancer about 40 years ago with a 5 year life expendency and her treatment being surgery and she just turned 76 years old.

Prayers for your stepfather. Culver's spicy chicken sandwich is pretty tasty.

I don’t want to say you “deserved” the DQ blizzard though it’s certainly understandable. But mostly I’m very glad your stepfather’s report was as good as it was. You have so much going on, as do many folks here. Hope you can find a hot minute for yourself.

This is just a bump in the road, don't beat yourself up over it. I'm glad your stepfather's news was not as bad as you feared. I used to be notorious for not attending weddings, I just didn't go, though I always sent nice gifts. Anyway, it's been a stressful time and lack of coffee hasn't helped. So, I'm giving you a dispensation for the blizzard and the pizza. Go forth and conquer the world. 💚💛💜

Hung in there. Stress is a killer for any eating program. We all fall off the wagon. You will get back on track. Hugs

I really, really appreciate your transparency. I'm glad to hear your SD is stable for now. Lack of sleep gets me every time. Hang in there.

Glad you had some good news I know you must still be wracked with anxiety about it. Especially with hormones going haywire. All you can do is it try to do better for the rest of the day. I missed what was up with the caffeine… coffee is life!! That’s all I got to say XD

I make wild food decisions when tired and/or stressed...sounds like you have a LOT going on. Thank you for helping readers feel like we're in good company!

Why are you attending a wedding you don’t want to go to? Send a nice gift, then stay home and rest 😀

Culver's is awesome.

I'm proud of your choice at Culvers! I would've gone for ice cream/ custard and then been sorry cuz I'm lactose intolerant...I'm sure your lack of sleep and the stress of everything, and hormones caused your downfall. The pizza thing was a "what the hell" moment...you'll bounce back.. I was watching to see how no caffeine was going...darn! I was going to try it cuz I'm getting up earlier all the time! I might try decaf coffee. Usually I despise decaf but Starbucks Pikes is a pretty good one. I'll try anything at this point...

Salad at Culver's? Great choice...you will regroup. Some times life is harder on some days. Your best is always enough

Nothing to be upset about. That was the only way for your body to protect itself from stress. Otherwise, you would have had nervous breakdown. When all things settle down, you will return to your dieting routine.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the support. I have been eating all day. It's been a lot and I'll probably just log it as SoftLife, I have to go to the wedding because I have to drive my mom and stepdad- among other reasons. It is very frustrating because I am quite sure my nephew would be happy to just receive the cash and not care if we showed up.

Diana- Maybe it is worth trying for yourself. Diablo did it and it slept better. Just not me. Oh well. I just realized I didn't finish my sentence above. LOL. I'll probably just log it as ice cream or something super high calorie instead of listing each thing.
