I have tennis elbow. That's my dx based on googling. I have been trying to take it easy for 2-3 weeks. Some exercises I can do without issues and others I cannot. It is affecting my bicep curls and some back stuff. :( Face pulls are no good. Yesterday it felt almost 100% and I should have left it alone, but I pressed my luck. It was a crappy workout. Only about 40 minutes because of trying to work around the right elbow/forearm issue. And also because this guy I hate was there and wherever I am, he seems to appear 12 inches away (also known as a foot) regardless of how many machines and stations there are. I know it likely is not intentional but I have it in my mind that it is and once someone sickens me- it is forever. Aside from invading my personal space- he once "trained" this woman by straddling the bench behind her and cupping her elbows for shoulder presses with his gross penis/groin pressed against her lower back. It had all the makings of a terrible porn. (are any NOT terrible?) And another time he was in the back room with this other woman who was laying on her side doing some kinda leg lifts while he was rubbing and pressing her glutes. Truly disgusting. Even though he wasn't "training" anyone yesterday, he grunted loudly while doing triceps. And I mean 'through my earbuds' kind of loud. I am all for noise at the gym at a regular decibel that is consistent with the amount of effort but this was ridiculous. There he was on my right. To my left was a tall, muscular, bearded, tattooed, STINKY white guy. His BO permeated my nostrils and of course he had to start his routine with wide grip pull downs. Still, I persevered for 43 minutes- not counting the warm up. Then I walked for 45 minutes with my kids. We saw nothing exciting and right at the end when I was comparing in my mind to how completely uneventful it was compared to the previous night, we saw three raccoons- a mom and 2 babies. I supposed it could have been the dad- but that seems unlikely. Today- like the last several Saturdays- mowing and cleaning and I think a little shopping is in order.

That doesn't sound like it's something you're imagining. It sounds like you're right to be disgusted by that guy. I hope your elbow is better soon.

That’s funny. I had just gotten over my “tennis elbow” a couple weeks back. Got it from going too heavy on skull crushers too fast. So I dropped that movement, and while it hurts on other movements as well, once I am deep in the workout the pain goes away. Took a good month for it to disappear. Muscle is able to progress and recover faster than tendons and joints. My elbows wasnt conditioned. So think of which movement that might’ve stressed it too much and drop that for awhile. Also tell Chris to back off 🤣

See- that's odd because the skull crushers aren't hurting it much. Matter of fact- it is triceps today- which I love. But any kind of lateral move- is killer. It's hard to explain. Thanks, JohnZerne. I hope so, too! Happy Saturday.

Oh- I didn't get the Chris reference. LOL. He'd fit the bearded tattooed guy. But the other is a large black guy who wears plastic suits to jog in on the treadmill when he isn't up my ass or rubbing someone else's. hahaha.

way too many "personalities" at the gym . one of the main reasons I built up a pretty bad ass one at my house was to avoid all the people! plus I like making it a family affair with the wife and kids joing in on the workouts with me. good luck with the elbow

Glad you got to see the raccoons. Sorry about your elbow and cotrainers. I hope you get some relief soon!

This made me laugh..... I just started going to the gym and there are a lot of "characters" Lol. I only do cardio because I am clueless at weight training. I'd would love to try it though. Maybe once I build up some confidence. Anyway, hope your elbow heals quickly :)

I’m sorry it wasn’t a good workout but you’re description is too funny😂. I’m feeling your pain as also suffering elbow pain.

Your descriptions are hilarious- that guy sounds gross lol Hope your elbow feels better soon- I hate injuries so much. It’s hard to be patient and actually rest!

Get a set of straps or versa grips. It will make the elbow pain go away. 💪

Which is one of the reasons I go to the gym at 3:30 in the morning. Though, of course, it's different, because I'm swimming. According to the Mayo Clinic website, they have a procedure that uses ultrasound delivered via a needle-like instrument inserted into the damaged tendon. This procedure breaks up the damaged tissue - which can restore function and relieve elbow pain. It can be performed in a doctor's office and requires no stitches. Might be something to investigate.

Hi, DP. It might be golf elbow (inside) or tennis elbow (outside) Adpreso and I discussed sore elbows this morning. I used a TENS machine on mine and that really helped. As for the creepy guys...........whats that all about. YUK.

Elbows take a good 4plus weeks to heal completely. Be patient! Do what you can till then.

Bob and Brad YouTube videos. I fixed mine with bands, doorway stretches and some contrarian moves. TENS was also helpful. Maybe your stinky gym buddy could assess your form? 😝

Sorry about the injury. Sorry about the gross dudes at the gym. Told a guy to back off once, got called a c*nt. I was working out before my shift started. His face was priceless when I changed and came out with my staff/trainer shirt on. Happy Saturday.

Yes, Katsolo, I used voodoo floss compression bands too. but I think the TENS machine had the edge for me.

Bob and Brad are a hoot, Katsolo! I just discovered their channel. Definitely plan on using some of their videos

Your elbow injury sounds miserable! What can do do for that? Just rest? While reading your post about the perv at the gym I got a visual of some kind of dark haired, moustached, porno actor.( not that I truly know any porno actors..lol) Ugh! Made my stomach turn! I get aggravated when I'm next to weirdos at the gym! Last week the guy on equipment next to me was talking to himself..at first I figured he was " pumping" himself up but then I listened to the words and he was saying things like how he was a drug addict and he was now best body in gym and how he was gonna kick everyone's ass. Then he was mumbling about members calling people fat ass and lazy! I slowly moved away..he gave me the creeps!!

There is nothing about this post that isn't funny 😂. My elbow tends to hurt on rows, curls, and other pulls if I tweak it once in awhile too. Just do legs only every day for a month until it heals and you'll have a J-Lo booty... In fact, I hear there's a guy at your gym that would love to spot you on squats 🤣

And that new bio (I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in FS that reads bios) - too funny!
