Trying to get back to normal routine after a week of having houseguests then visiting my sisters for a few days. Multiple restaurant meals can make it harder to stay on track. I was able to make some healthier choices so didn't totally go off the rails. One of my sisters likes to treat herself when she's away from home. She did say a couple of times "This isn't how I usually eat" after suggesting we stop at the donut shop or choosing a meal when we were eating out. I know it's true cause she has been successfully maintaining her slimmer figure. We were active with lots of walking, so that helps balance the calorie intake. While at our sisters' house we also dug up some perennials to take home with us.

I gained a little over 2 lbs. after all my fun with family, so yesterday got back to my more restrained eating plan. I ended yesterday around 1500 calories & was down this morning already.

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous weather & I spent most of the afternoon outside. I raked the grass & cleaned out the gardens in our side yard. I planted some sedums I brought back & a couple of lillies. I mixed up deer repellant after I got home Saturday. Sadly the deer got into a hosta & all of my Asian Lillies 😒 The hosta will grow but I think the lillies are done for this season. I sprayed the rest of the perennials Sat. then yesterday gave a few things another spritz after cleaning up just to be sure I got it all. I also pruned the dead wood on the hydrangeas. I still have some iris to plant but I can't decide where I want them. I think the deer ate the few developing blooms off the ones I already have. I sprayed everything that I saw coming up a couple of weeks ago, but I used all the repellant I already had mixed up. I was busy getting ready for our company & didn't take the time to mix up a new batch. Oh, well...I never make it through a season without them getting into something.

This morning I saw a hummingbird looking for the feeder that is usually outside our kitchen window. It came back again, so I figured I better mix up hummingbird food & get the feeders hung.

Well, I need to go check the dryer....doing laundry today.

I rescheduled a dental appt. so I could go out of town. They called & said there was a cancelation so they can get me in tomorrow afternoon.

You got back on track so fast! Good for you. 👍 The deer got to the irises in our front garden too! 😳 We'll probably move the irises to a safe spot and fill in with deer resistant plants that they won't bother with unless they are starving. I sure enjoy hearing about your activities, especially your gardening. 💕
