GIGABA69's Journal, 01 Apr 22

Utterly disgusted and demotivated right now. I’ve done everything by the book in terms of sticking to my calories, resistance training and cardio, and that still scale has not moved. I’m starting to think I’ve been putting myself through all of this for nothing…

Sometimes it's not about the scale. Frustrating, yes, I know. Resistance training and cardio are very important. As important/maybe more than what your scale is saying. You're getting strength and endurance. That's something to feel really good about. Take a moment, take your win. Well deserved.

Thank you for your positive words. I’ve been gaining strength weekly but it would be nice to see the scale in the 60s. I guess I’ll have to be patient

Will you be logging in the food diary. This helps. Also, the exercise log.

You gaining strength weekly, you getting stronger building more muscle. The scale may not be moving but a lot of good progress is happening the more muscle you build the more you can eat and the easier it will be to drop fat. Stay the course you doing well and you will get to your goals!!

@LivingBreezy I always log in the food diary. Maybe I need to decrease my calories slightly

Apologies GIGABA, I hadn't noticed the food diary entries. Are you going by the FS RDI already? If so, decreasing slightly is a good idea. Being careful not to "starve" your bones, heart, etc. Water is so important/no calories. :-)

It is so easy to get discouraged on this journey but having done this for over 3 years now, I’ve realized that when the scale isn’t moving in the right direction, that’s the time that you need to stick to your plan. The reality is that weight loss is difficult and it’s so much easier just to give up, but believe me you’ll feel so much worse. Slow and steady wins the race! DON’T GIVE UP!!!!

@LivingBreezy I am using the FS RDI, and I’ve reduced my it by 100 calories. I hope that will yield results
