SherryeB's Journal, 06 Dec 21

I had to sit & give my back a break so decided I'd do an update. Two higher calorie days in a row...up a little. Saturday we went to a party at our friend's property just down the road from us. He doesn't actually live there. He bought the property & has been renovating for several years. There is a 2 story cabin, another building that he's set up for a cooking school, a covered pavilion that the previous owners used for parking....last time we saw it it was full of junk. Our friend is a somewhat eccentric attorney 😁 He is very creative so has done some cool stuff to the different structures/ outbuildings. He had cleaned out the Pavillion, built a cool fire pit, had another interesting heater, installed a big TV, turned a long church pew into bench seating at the end & added 3 long picnic tables end to end in the center. I can't even begin to describe everything! So, he had assorted beer, soft drinks & water to drink. I was drinking beer so decided I better partake of food. It was easy, football watching food....assorted bowls of chips...then grilled footlong hotdogs. A bit later grilled hamburgers are out. Towards the end of the evening he brought out a pork & beef tenderloin to be sliced. I had a few chips, a hotdog, a hamburger & 1 slice each of the tenderloins. This was my lunch & dinner. Don't really know exactly how many calories but I did the best I could to log what I ate.

Yesterday we had waffles & bacon for breakfast with our customary fruit. Lunch was hummus, sliced cheese, salami slices, & crackers. Dinner was a bone in pork chop, cabbage & apples. The chop was a lot of calories, although I weighed it with the bone (that I didn't eat 😉)

I've been working diligently to get all the decorating done. I was a little under the weather for a couple of days from the Covid booster, but felt fine by Saturday. Today I put garland on the stair bannister, played around with the front porch & did a side table in the dining room. It takes awhile sometimes as I try to decide exactly how I want to do it. The rain slowed down & I was able to bring the 2 alpine trees up from storage & start on them. They're my "nostalgia" trees. I put decorations my kids made, decorations from my grandkids, some my 2 sisters in law had used on their trees before the passed, some collected ones from travels on them.

I have to finish them tomorrow & I need to put lights around the front door. I don't do a lot of outside lights...but I did do green garland with lights on the back deck rail last year & really enjoyed it.

I'm getting my hair done Wednesday....much needed!!! Thursday I'm having lunch with my sister & shopping.

Meatballs & probably a salad for dinner. I have some asparagus so I think I'll cook that, too.
