Brownie....I ate my dessert from Thursday night, that I was too full to eat then. Although I had eaten lunch yesterday, I ate several hours earlier than usual. I was hungry around 4 PM so I ate some popcorn...and had a pre-dinner cocktail with Hubby. I ended up a couple hundred calories over. Still under goal.

The birds are still amusing us. I caught a baby Wren leaning way out of the bird house to get a tidbit from their parent. They are getting bigger and more active. One of the juvenile Cardinals can't seem to get the hang of the feeder. He keeps flying up to the seed in the tube, not realizing it comes out of the openings below! And one didn't seem to understand the concept of peanuts & kept pushing them off the rail onto the deck. I can spend way too much time sitting & watching them.

We have a big patch of Chantarel mushrooms in our yard. I have never picked them to cook, but I keep hearing how good they are. Hubby said he wasn't eating them without a guarantee they were the real thing. I googled how to tell the difference and ours meet all the criteria...and showed a pic of one to our friend the other night. She confirmed it looked like the real ones. The hot, wet weather is making it perfect for them to grow.

Hot & muggy again today. We postponed our walk til almost an hour later yesterday so it would e a bit cooler. The dogs don't do well in the heat....and I was all sweaty too. In fact, I just moved indoors to the air conditioning cause just sitting outside was getting sticky. Exercises may have to be done inside again. We have had a really nice Summer so far....much cooler than normal but I think the heat has arrived. It's strange since the Northwest was so hot.

Shrimp for dinner tonight. We bought a big box of dumplings from Costco that I need to find a way to "Spice" up. They're not awful but I'm not crazy about them either. I always enjoy ordering them in a resteraunt. I think if I can create a spicy sauce for them they would be tastier.
