Sitting on the back deck with the hummingbirds circling over my head, chittering & zipping about to the 4 feeders I've supplied for them. They challenge each other....feeling very territorial of their chosen feeder. It's gravitating between light showers & sun poking thru the clouds.

Earlier, I was looking all over...with no luck, for a pic I thought I'd share of me in a skirt I bought 15 years ago to wear on a cruise we took to celebrate my 50th Birthday. It was always a favorite....it's a floaty animal print in a pretty caramel print. I'd hung on to it in spite of it being much to tight in the waist to wear for awhile. I had it on earlier reimagining how I might wear it now. It got me thinking about my eating habits at that time. I had lost a few lbs. before the cruise....wanting to look nice...but I still was 15 lbs. or more than I am now. At that time I was working a very active job as a Retail Manager. I know I burned a lot of calories, but still had difficulty keeping my weight down. I realize now I had no idea how full of calories some of my meals were. Grabbing something from Zaxby 😯 or even what I thought was a healthy salad from Longhorn had as many or more calories than I should eat in a whole day. For convenience & what I hoped was a good way to cut back, I would buy Lean Cuisine frozen meals. Most of them I doused heavily with more salt & hot sauce since I usually found them bland & without much flavor. Several years later I came upon Fat Secret. Wow!! What an eye opener....no wonder I struggled losing the weight. Now I can eat tasty meals & steer clear of those choices except for occasionally. Another eye opener was learning how many calories I was adding by drenching my salads with dressing & some of the additions like nuts etc. I've learned to enjoy a lighter touch on those things while adding more of the lower calorie, but still flavorful toppings.

Tonight's dinner is going to be Tuna salad on Green leaf lettuce with some more healthy additions. I'm thinking some carrots, cannellini beans and a few more goodies might find their way onto the plate 😀
