I don't understand! I'm staying very close or below my rdi of 1300, following the Keto menu and have my macros set at 55% fat, 30% protein and 15% carbs. HOW the HELL did I gain a pound. I'm as active as my body allows, which is slowly becoming a little bit more each day. But even with that, I am almost always a negative on the ratio of calories/calories burned. What am I doing wrong?????

To be keto strictly and it may be good to do it strictly to find out if you like it and if it works for you, you have to be under 20 net carbs consistently otherwise you may not be in ketosis. You may have to look over your menu and think about choices for that to happen. Having milk or dressing with a lot of sugar or a lot of berries or fruit will not work. The diet is built around protein and fat and it is important that those are the focus of all your meals and snacks. You may want to "just" low carb and do a Mediterranean diet. That works great for some as well. That all being said... weight fluctuation are so normal. We go up and down for apparently no reason sometimes. Just focus on the long term trend and eat healthy for you and believe in the process. You got this.!!!

Thanks liv001!!! I guess I'm confused because the diet in on is 90% the diet from the app. It has milk and lots of berries. So do I just need to try to develop my own menu?? I'm not a nutritionist.

I would look up and follow the Atkins (2002) induction diet for two weeks. It is a very good elimination diet and helps you get a grounding. It is strict but teaches you about fats and proteins and carbs. Here is a link to a forum posts that lists what it is. You probably need to do this on the web since this is old LOL https://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=236482

Based on your May 29th entry, you've lost 5lbs in 17 days. That equates to 2lb/week which is a very healthy rate. As @liv indicates, fluctuations are 100% normal. Don't fret, you are on the right track! 👍👍

Breathe! Weight fluctuates all the time. Water weight is probably the worst offender about making you think you are failing. Also, for us gals, our cycles mess us up too. I always bloat before Aunt Flo visits. It can be alarming to see on the scales, but then I remember and compare it to the same point in the previous month. Don't panic - stay the course.
