So today is back to business day! I was doing a comparison of how things looked on Dec. 1st and Jan. 1st. I was surprised I had actually only gained about half a lb. I made the decision to continue in weight loss mode instead of maintenance mode during Dec. knowing I would stray from the plan some days. I managed to lose a couple of lbs. in early Dec., so that helped my overall progress for the month. I went back up during the week of Christmas, indulging in Christmas goodies, more alcohol & meals out. But, it could be worse.

I was dressing yesterday & pulled a pair of black dress pants I hadn't worn in awhile out of the closet. They were huge on me 😀 Had to go back in search of a different pair. And my pale blue grey cashmere sweater I hadn't worn recently cause it was too short to cover my pudgy belly was just fine. Although my tummy isn't flat, the sweater lay nicely over it.

I attended my friend's daughter's funeral yesterday. As expected it was heartbreaking. I have known J since her daughter was just a little girl. Seeing a life cut short like this is awful. We worked together for several years & have remained friends. One of our friends is away for the Holidays, so the plan is for 4 of us to get together later this month when she returns. I want to hopefully be some support for her as she grieves.

Time to get something to eat & get on with my day. I need to start taking down the decorations & getting the house in order. It's rainy & gloomy out, so I hate getting rid of all the twinkly lights.
68.9 kg Lost so far: 9.5 kg.    Still to go: 7.6 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I miss the tree (lights) too - the living room always seems so dark afterward. You are doing wonderful - smart decision on handling the holidays. Congrats on the old clothes being too large.
