davidsprincess's Journal, 01 Sep 19

From August 1 to Sept 1- down 7.6# This is 2 pounds less than I set my goal so I am fairly pleased. Daily average calories= 1,746 with the lowest at 724 and the highest at 4,670. (Yikes). Went to lift 27 out of 31 days- usually for an hour but some only 40 minutes due to work issues. Across my top fat roll I have lost 1/4" for a total of 8.5, down 1.25 inches across navel for 7.25 total, down another inch from hips for 9.25 total lost, down .5 on thighs for total of 5", down 3/4" from calves for total of 3.5 lost. Chest, forearm, bicep stayed the same. Non scale victories- endless compliments from friends and co-workers. A random lady at a garage sale yesterday said "Wow- you've lost a lot of weight. You look great." No idea who she is but our town isn't huge so I assume we are at many school events together since she asked how my daughter was liking high school. (I am TERRIBLE with faces). Ran up the stairs the other day and hubby said he assumed it was one of the kids. Can take my wedding ring off for the first time in 15 years- but I don't know that that's a victory. Someone at church saw me from behind and thought we had brought a visitor. 2 old men at church said I looked great and I'm hot... that actually grossed me out and made me uncomfortable but I don't think they meant anything by it- or I am very naive. Next goal was supposed to be my wedding weight but I think this is my wedding weight. Not finding any clear record but 2 days after our wedding I weighed 194. My lowest recorded weight during my adult life is 184.5 Nov 18, 2004. Goal for October 1 is 189. Thankful for FS's calorie counter. My life is forever changed! Eating what I want and making sure my daily average isn't over 2000 for the month. So easy!

Congratulations. You are doing well. So many victories. May September bring more of the same. Do you alternate your lifting routine from day to day?

I love reading your monthly updates. I keep forgetting to take measurements. I did mine on Jan.6/19 but not since. I know it’s major!! I really should get that tape out but I hate measuring. Btw, I hit the third goal straight on this morning. Nice start to September but what now?? Another goal. Kinda unsure... stay tuned. PS. Quick question dp, if I allow followers, do they have to see every morsel I eat? Any way to keep that private?? Also, can I set it somehow to only accept certain followers or have to ok followers before they see me?? Just the thought...I feel naked!🤪🤪🤪🤪

Thanks, Liv. I do alternate it. Back and Biceps, Shoulders and Triceps, Legs and Abs. (I hate doing chest- but I will usually throw in some bench presses with Sh/Tri). This allows me to hit each group twice a week and one of them 3x since I go daily. If it gets monotonous- just changing the order I do each exercise or looking up new exercises to try for a muscle group. I am going to start taking off one day a week this month. The rest does me good. 🤸🏻‍♂️

Wifey- I don't know about the food diary part- but I don't think so. There is a way to only allow certain followers because I've had to send a request to follow before. If it makes you feel better- I never look at anyone's food diary unless it's right there and catches my eye. But I know some people do. LOL. You need to work this site in a way that is going to benefit you. If staying private is going to help because you'd be uneasy being truthful with every morsel you eat, then do it. You and I have different personalities so I would have a hard time caring if someone scrutinized my daily food and activity and have a few choice *not very princess-like* words for him or her. I tease you about being private but clearly that is how you are meeting your goals and that's what is most important. You can also disable comments. I did that for a short time but it wasn't very fun. LOL

Thanks, Melissa, Diablo, Erq, Tatauu, Yohoyoh, and Jen! You are all fast becoming my favorite people on FS to support and I'm glad you like following me Tatauu. Yohoyoh- Today at church- my favorite male member said he didn't have his glasses on during bible study and when I came in late he didn't realize it was me because I am looking so fit. That's more the compliment I'd like. LOL.

You have so much to be proud of, it sounds like you have really learned how to manage your eating so that you can make this weight loss permanent. As for those old men, lust is lust, and old men are just as lustful as young men, except all they can do is talk about it; and at church no less. LOL! Sometimes, it's nice to know that you turn heads when you walk by. 😁 Congratulations, and keep up the good work, you are an inspiration!

Lol Shirfleur... Thank you! Yes I have learned what I need to do to be successful. Wish I learned it at 25 and not 45 but no going back.

Awesome job! Your numbers show how exercise helps with this process. You don't have to starve to lose weight. You just have to keep a good deficit and one way to do that is to increase your expenditure. Lifting adds a LOT to your allowed caloric budget. Again, awesome job! :)

Great progress!!! You are doing so well!! Just wanted to mention that your monthly goal journals are one of the reasons I upped my calorie goals (I happened to see that we're about the same weight and I thought hmm... maybe I should be eating more!) - and I'm still losing! Thank you for sharing - you're helping others along in their success as well. 💜
