MightyFull's Journal, 24 Jun 15

Yesterday afternoon, I got an opportunity to speak with an amazing lady (while she was working out on treadmill 3.3mph on incline for 60 minutes). She's a vendor of ours and I had called to find out the status of an order. Ended up talking about life and then about her weight loss goals and weight watchers. Talk about a God-thing. Lately (as you've noticed), I've not been happy with the direction I have been headed and was just trying to motivate myself in the right direction -- or at least opposite of the direction I was traveling. She was encouraging...and though I am not where she is on the treadmill (there once was a time when I was there on the elliptical) ...I pulled out the materials (hand-held journal), WW, and P90x nutritional guidelines and put together a plan. Funny thing too - hubby had posted on FB an article that I knew was aimed directly at me (and how I hoped he was inspired by it.....apparently not. No change the day after of his routine. Frankly, I was disappointed. But....life goes on.

Basically, here's what I got out of the 8 things every person should do before 8am.

Acknowledged I have been in survival mode and it was time to make a decision.

1) 7+ Hours of sleep (so far, so good -- and yes, I whole-heartedly agree when I get plenty of rest, life is awesome)
2) Time with God - pulled out mini ipad and found today's chapter in the Bible for the day and started 1 Samuel - got through 7 chapters.
3) Physical Activity -- So I figured I could start with yoga 20-45 minutes 3x a week and elliptical 20-45 2x a week. Weekends up to on the fly. This morning (without my glasses on) I selected 20 minutes of Pilates. Yeah...there was one point I nearly threw up. Probably due to my abs where disturbed from hibernation. Opted for 5 minutes of stretch afterwards, then took the dog out for her 4 lap morning walk around the perimeter of our yard (15 minutes).
4) Protein - working on getting in 30 grams of Protein for breakfast (didn't succeed this morning, but will work in before lunch.
5) Cold Shower -- coming from a person who loves really hot showers, this one will be a bit of a challenge. But I am up for it. Missed shower opp this morning -- will start this one tomorrow morning. (Working up nerve)
6) Listen to/Read uplifting content -- Well, I don't watch the news in the morning -- instead I Love Lucy and Andy Griffith episodes. You can't get much lighter than that! Listened to Contemporary Christian music this morning while walking Love - helped me focus on something other than the humidity. :) Reading -- yes, still -- the biography of P.L. Travers -- nearly done. She was an odd bird. (she wrote Mary Poppins btw).
7) Revisit my life vision -- Here's the deal -- I saw the photos of myself when mom, sis and I went on a trip. I will be size 14 next June vs the size 18 this June. I will have less rounded shoulders. (the size thing is jeans)
8) The worst comes first -- big rocks first. All it seems to me that I have been doing is big rock project stuff and the little projects are to the side. Talked with boss -- some of the crowd drawing stuff is not lining up, and we may want to plan to have some of the items next year -- or a different time. What boss heard: "I'm not pushing hard to get the big items, so I'll just put aside till next year." When I tried to elaborate what I meant, boss chose not to "hear" me and tabled it till next Monday for a face-to-face meeting. I was seriously disappointed -- frankly, I have been working hard on the project and trying to incorporate things they have suggested this week and let's keep in mind I have till July 6th if we want it on the schedule of events (which we do). Boss just took it as this is the largest project I've worked on thus far and I'm slacking off. Even DREAMED about it last night -- where I actually got a chance to explain what I meant and was actually heard. Thank goodness for my dreams....starting today with a clean slate and pressing on.

Yes, I was in survival mode for sure. I'm breaking out of mine. Start date of change: June 24, 2015. End date of change: June 5, 2016.

Need to measure now....at lunch.
