I made seafood okra gumbo last night, but forgot to take a picture. I cut back on the crabmeat and skipped the oysters, so it was mostly shrimp and fish, but it was still very good. These days it would cost me $100 to make seafood gumbo the way I used to make it. Buying seafood in Texas is very different from buying it in Louisiana. 😩

It sounds delicious. I live on the NC coast and the prices have skyrocketed. The shrimpers, etc have to buy diesel for those boats. Enjoy!

My chocolate chip cookies cost $30 - $40 to make 4 dozen. Everyone just loved them and would pay me to make them. I haven’t made them in ages, I bet it’s about $60 now I am sure. It’s the nuts that costs the most, that’s why they are so good.

Tim, my hubby too. That’s why I carry an epipen in case I need to stab him. Lately that costs more than Shirfleur’s seafood gumbo.🙃

Tim, I'll make a chicken gumbo with sausage for you, with or without okra, whichever you prefer. (We don't just throw the okra in the pot like they do in New Orleans, first we smother it with onions, bell peppers, garlic and tomatoes.) Makes a very big difference.

Shrewd, those cookies sound wonderful. My mom used to pick & clean pecans and give them to us, just one more thing on the very long list of why I miss her.
