davidsprincess's Journal, 01 Jul 22

Since restarting 5/16... I have had 36 days of getting enough exercise. 24 times at the gym and the remainder through heavy yard work, outside projects, walking, deep cleaning and power washing everything in sight. 8 days of not doing nearly enough- either by choice or life getting in the way. I am down 10.6 pounds. I was supposed to weigh 215 today to meet my goal but I knew eating heavily on the 26th would slow that a bit. I haven't remeasured yet. I don't want to feel let down. I can tell it isn't a big, noticeable difference yet- so I will wait another month. I almost ate Chinese food yesterday but Melissa texted at just the right time. I knew if I just ate a little something, I wouldn't be so hungry and act irrationally. Things to do better in July- more exercise- more protein- more packed lunches and cooking at home. Days that will be heavy eating- my MIL's birthday... she usually cooks up deliciousness. Must suck to have a daughter in law that can't cook for her. haha. Also heading to the lake to see my dad and sisters the weekend of the 22nd. Typically there are no weights around but there is swimming and we try to get in some long walks. TGIF! Thanks for reading.

Well done! I was doing pretty well, then lost it, so I'm only down 2. Looking forward to a better month. Enjoy July!

I have to remind myself from time to time that progress is progress, no matter how slow. 10 pounds is a lot of butter. You've put out some big ticket/big impact changes. I map out my big calorie days, too. I'm getting ready for our annual 4th of July blow-out, which usually involves 10+ hours of bbq and booze, topped off with a side of pie. Well, several sides of pie, really. But life is part of the process. You got this.

good timing for me, DP, thank you. I was thinking last night as Hogan and I were meandering around the block that I am letting myself become less active and that I don't have to walk to move. it's a real head game.

Very motivating! Wish I could do all the yard work and power spraying and deep cleaning. But I don't have either the energy or the inclination. I did manage to send a text to the owner of the yard care service and ask if the guys have a way to get rid of all the stickers all over the property from the dried weeds that were cut down but now removed. Good planning for meals coming up - just knowing they are coming is a big help.

So happy you're back on track and being so positive regarding what's up ahead. 💕 About your MIL being disappointed, I am thinking you are way off on that. My DIL doesn't cook, she does make a delicious artichoke dip, but she does not cook cook and that's okay. I love her dearly and she excels in so many other areas and aspects, that the not cooking does not matter. I'm sure your MIL loves and appreciates you just as you are. 💖
