We left Toronto around 8:30 this morning heading for home. The original plan was to drive about 10 hours & finish off tomorrow. I had a little snooze & when I woke up the GPS was reading we'd reach our destination at 12:15 AM. Apparently, Hubby decided he was driving all the way...he wants to be in his own bed.

Other than a detour that took us in circles for a few minutes as we crossed into Kentucky the drive has been pretty smooth.

Lunch today was cheese, Salami slices, a turkey snack stick, crackers, grapes & a few acai blueberry dark chocolate pieces from our snack stash. We stopped @ Wendy's & grabbed dinner to go & ate in the car...a Jalapeño Popper salad (Yum!) for me & a bourbon bacon burger for Hubby.

I've been trying to track as much as possible & calories have been around 2500 a day...well over my calorie allowance. I have tried to make some better choices food wise....sometimes that worked out. Lots of calories have been the quantities of adult beverage I've consumed. What can I say...we're a drinking crowd.

Hoping when I get back on the scale I won't have too much damage to repair. Plan is to be extra "Good" this week. My clothes are still fitting fine so I should be fine. I also fit in a few walks this week. We leave for our Beach vacation next weekend.

The week has been emotional....tears, laughter, memories, catching up. I mentioned how long it had been since we saw our Canadian family. I underestimated the length of time. It's actually been 30 months....Way, way too long. We do stay in touch by phone and did lots of video calling since Covid hit...but not the same as personal time sitting together and talking for hours. I'm hoping we can get in a other visit before year's end.

Thanks! We had a great family visit, Mermee. We arrived home safe & sound @ 2 AM (Sunday). The last couple of hours were not fun, cause it was raining sporadically making it difficult to see. The roads as you get closer to our home are rural & winding. I was tired but didn't want to sleep until we were home safe. It did feel good to wake up @ home instead of having to drive a few more hours this morning.
