WaistAway87's Journal, 11 Jan 21

A bit disappointed in myself - today is my son's birthday, and despite my best efforts I had a ham and cheese tartlet, a sausage roll, a slice of cake (a small cake though seeing as we can only celebrate with our little household under lockdown rules, so it was a small slice) and some other smaller snacks. I know I should just let it go (his birthday only comes once a year after all), but I still feel guilty. Skipping dinner and will do a long fast so that I can get back in to ketosis hopefully sooner rather than later....
And this despite hitting a new low weight (not logged to the app - I still want to only log on Jan 30th)......sigh ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Aaaahhh don't be disappointed, sometimes we have to live and that means celebrating with our loved ones, I also cheat a little for birthdays and then I get back on the straight and narrow, yes a fast will bring you back up to speed, I usually do intermittent fasting 16/8 0r 18/6 and I break with eggs.

I totally agree with you, and I think I would have felt a bit down if I had nothing just wish I didn't cheat so badly 😣😣😣 I did a 20 hr fast from 2pm Sunday to 10.30 Monday, and I started again at 15.30 today and I hope to go about 20 hrs again, maybe even OMAD tomorrow to get back on track

Oh, dear, don't stress! Celebrating with your family a special event is nothing to be ashamed of. It sounds like you used restraint and enjoyed a little treat. Your way of eating needs to be sustainable for life, because we need to live!!!! Many blessings!

Thank you so much for the support - I completely agree, we still need to live! And the only way to do that is consistency and sustainability, and life happens in conjunction with that. Wish the guilt would stop bothering me, but tomorrow is another day to win
