lettygaylor's Journal, 21 Nov 19

Throwback Thursday. The most frequently asked question I get is if I had weight loss surgery. I did not. I joined the gym in 2014 and changed my eating habits. I have nothing against weight loss surgery, I just didn't go that route. If I had I would tell y'all. I'm very honest about my weight loss journey. So if y'all ever have questions ask me. I'd rather get asked than have people assume.

This must sound so crazy but when people say they joined a gym that encourages me to join, so I do. Then I try and go to the gym but I am so lost and have no idea what I’m doing or how to even do it I don’t go back. Did you ever experience this?

Thank you all of y'all! My friend had a workout class at the gym called Healthy Beginnings. It was for people just started out. After a few months I started looking up workouts and exercises on Pinterest that I could do on my own. Then I went to a Zumba Toning class, which I hated, because it was packed in there and you couldn't move. I tried another Zumba class several months later and fell in love with it. So I got licensed to teach it. I have Zumba Toning a second chance and about a year later went and got my second certification for that class. My sister dragged me to Pound and after a 10 minute demo she convinced me to get certified to teach that class. She also was the one who dragged me along to get Piloxing and Piloxing Barre certifications. Next year we're getting our BodyFlow certifications and I'm hoping that soon after I'll get Body Pump, which she teaches.

So don't give up because you never know where it might lead you. Believe me I never thought my life would go this way. I had given up so many times before I ever set foot in the gym. And now I went from a couch potato to a fitness instructor, it blows my mind.

Congratulations on your transformation!!! Though I am significantly overweight, I couldn’t agree with you more. Surgery just isn’t for me. Nothing against it but just isn’t for me. Keep up the good work!

how long it took to get off all that fat and with what consistency you exercised? Also, your diet.

You look fantastic! So impressed! I never considered surgery either. I got myself into that mess and I got myself out. Almost 2 years in and still on my new journey. Nice abs, BTW 😎
