Questions only regarding gaining weight?
26 Jun 18 by member: KhadijaAdams
I am going to start Crossfit soon, I have been doing something similar for the past year, lost about 30kg. I want to know if I should still eat low carb high protein when my main aim npw will be maintaining the weight loss and firming up the flab?

@khadijaAdams No, any and all questions regarding ANYTHING are welcome :)

@Annelize , if youre going to start doing more strenuous exercise, for eg. Crossfit your bodies going to need more fuel/energy to keep it going...going too low calories will result in muscle loss and weight plateaus... what i would suggest especially for weight training is gradually increasing carbs, bit by bit....add some and see if you gain any extra weight...if not add more...if you do gain (unwanted weight) maybe cut less....my point is, its trial and error but trust me no matter what...your bodies going to appreciate that extra energy and thank you with great workouts :) hope that helps

There are so many theories about what you should (and shouldn't do) to achieve a flat and toned tummy. What are your thoughts please.

@LowCarbFemmeFit Hey :) so theres this giant myth about something called spot reduction or only getting rid of fat in certain areas of the body, but as i said this is a myth, quite a big one actually...one that most businesses exploit....the truth is you cannot just decrease fat levels in 1 area, the body doesnt work like that...you can gain muscle in that area, get stronger but your fat levels will and should decrease overall...over the entire body not just around your tummy! my advise....achieve a flat and toned BODY! by eating less, getting healthier and exercising regularly...there are plenty of weight loss plans and things out there, find one that works for you and stick to it make a lifestyle....keep trying, keep learning and i promise youll see results.....DO NOT FOLLOW FAD SUPER DIETS like soup/ice block/kale only diets blah blah youll make yourself miserable and end up binging anyway....find something that works for you and that you can see yourself doing and living with for the rest of your fit life :) just my 2cents :) hope that helps

for me personally "mat work" like leg raises and bicycle crunches, plank etc have worked the best for me..hanging leg raises are the best but extremely difficult in the beginning...stick to the Mat workouts and engaging the core :)

I have a silly question. In weight training, do females have train differently compared to males?
26 Jun 18 by member: 4Raksha
@4araksha not necessarily no :) most woman I know do almost the same exercises as I do however they do tend to work their lower body a lot more than the upper body...where as for guys it's almost the complete opposite 😅 thanks
26 Jun 18 by member: ScottyT23
@Scottyt23's, thanks for clearing that up! I'm thinking of adding weight training. I was told that females don't train like guys. 😧
26 Jun 18 by member: 4Raksha
@4Raksha no ways man, females don't necessarily go as heavy or intense as men do but they still push their bodies and abilities to the test...weight training is by far the best way to get into the healthy lifestyle and can't recommend for everyone enough ♡♡♡♡ hope that clears it all up :)

@Scottyt23, thanks for clearing that up!!! I was afraid of doing something wrong and then I'll end up looking odd. 🙈 I think I actually want to try weight training. See if it's for me. 😉
