Question*
When I have cheat meals for example - last night I had cream spinach and roast potatoes for a surprise Valentines day dinner :) I added it to my count as I always do and I never went over my cal intake. Does this mean it's okay?

A cheat meal is good, as long as its not a cheat day :) what you ate was good, people are worried about eating potatoes and rice but you need those carbs for energy. you body will use those carbs when you work out. Also you mentioned you included it in your count so nothing to worry about, if you see a slight increase on the scale don't sweat it. maybe add a HITT training session to really burn some extra calories and eating this potatoes and creamed spinach will have been worth it :)

I think everyone has their own sense of what's "okay" or not with regards to their diet! I count calories, so in my opinion if it fit in your calorie count it's definitely Ok! As long as the majority of your food intake is whole, nutritious foods.
Consistency over perfection!
I even have entire cheat days lol
