Some people will find motivation in seeing a nice figure others will indeed feel demotivated and see it as a million miles from their personal goal . We all have personal goals and one persons slender /toned is actually way more bodyfat than another person desires . In fact we all have our own " best body " so be happy with what you have genetically and make the most of it . Your individual mindset when seeing a nice physique will normally fall along 2 lines ( and im not picking fault here so dont start it up with me as i wont back down ) A person is either in admiration or jealous . When a person achieves or maintains an impressive or slender physique it shows dedication and self control something we all admire in people . Part of getting what you want is knowing what you need to give up to achieve it . Yes ive gone off on a tangent - However i genuinely admire everyone here making effort and so if a person really doesnt want to see photos of others and their achievements i believe they should simply log their calories and stay outside of the comment/chat that way everyone can remain happy and motivated - Peace

I also understand Healthyme1973's point of view and dont believe it was meant to be abrasive in any way. As i understand some people look at where they are vs where they want to be and lose heart . Its a shame but thats where self control and perseverance come in.

Thank you for your input, Ade T. Its an interesting discussion opened up by healthyme. I have been struggling with injuries since August so I am only now getting back to where I want to be. Someone else who has also been injured recently posted her picture the other day and she has come back stronger than ever. That motivates me to keep pushing through my injuries. And I told her that 🙂

Injuries suck im battling a recurring bicep / shoulder injury - constant stretches and alteration of exercises to minimize stress to the area. Good luck with your routine :)

I have had to change my routine completely, Ade. Got RSI in both elbows (golfers elbows) and have had to break everything down to basics. I am now building back up and can feel strength and stamina coming back It is so encouraging to know that with time and proper attention to detail, we can comeback from these painful niggles. Having said that, I didnt stop complaining about it, see previous journals!!

@Anne lol - i regularly curse my injuries and my age - sarcopenia means you begin to fight losing muscle as opposed to even trying to gain it :( . I was quite strong as a younger man 500kg leg press etc reasonably built too , in fact all my lifts werent bad for my height / size . Injuries over the years have made me cautious of heavy lifting which i used to enjoy . The one area i have kind of maintained is grip strength id like to work up to 350lb grip strength again but ill wait until im in a calorie surplus and im currently doing a 250lb hand gripper. My main goal is to get extremely low bodyfat ( probably lower than most people are interested in ) whilst maintaining some muscle mass. I have used the training and diet to focus on as the rest of my life kind of fell apart around me. Anyhoo stay strong ;)

Well then that’s all the motivation i need to carry on with my swimming ❤️ you asked me what length my local pool was so I’ve nipped on Apple Fitness thingy and found this out. It’s 25 metre pool and I did 1975 metres or 79 lengths, it took me 1 hour so probably not the fastest 🙈 but my first go in soooo long I was just a bit chuffed with myself 😂 xxxx
