I will no longer be a slave my TV shows. I caught myself all last week rushing thru my work outs to get home to watch my shows that all start at 9pm and cutting corners on my work outs and skipping cardio bc I wasn't going to make it home in time. And I didn't like how it made me feel afterwards. When I get to Friday I want to feel like I kicked butt not like I just barely got by. I still had productive work outs, just not the work outs I'm aiming for. So shows will need to wait and be watched on demand or dvr'd or whatever. With that said, I'm adding in legs 2 days a week. Hoping to step it up.And getting serious about my abs.I owe it to myself. Really need to dig into those squats a bit more and I'm struggling with lunges and want to focus on that this week.Hope every one has a great day !! Cheers.

Love your planning ahead, Red! Whatever you are doing is working well. Can you go to the gym 30 minutes earlier? I suppose you already would do that if you could...

HCB, I get out of work at 630 so by the time I get there its 7-730, even if I plan ahead and literally walk out the door at 630, it still is a struggle bc the gym is packed and I need to get cardio in bc im no longer doing it in the morning bc its too cold to walk outside and I am trying to step it up and do elliptical. So it is what it is. gym means more to me anyway ..

Great planning. Glad you're enjoying the gym. Just make sure your workouts are fun and don't become a chore. Staying active is much more important than watching TV.

I used to be like that with Once Upon A Time on Sunday nights at 8pm. It will make you crazy for sure. I now watch it via ABC online -- yes, I have to wait about a week to see the previous week's show, but I'm okay with that. It's worth it to see my hubby enjoy watching Sunday night football.

Mighty, Once is actually one of my shows! I usually don't work out Sundays so that one is safe. I have one each Tues Wed and Thursday that are getting in the way. I was just thinking I could catch up on demand on Sundays. Cat, I really enjoy working out thats why its so annoying to me that Im rushing thru it. I want to take my time, do it right and get a great work out in each time.

Can you workout and watch at the same time? Best of both worlds. Yes TV can drive you nuts it is as much an idiot box as the other idiot box. Hang in there you are a strong lady and will make the best choice and your plan is awesome.

I used to do the same thing until I got my self, piece by piece a little home gym. Nothing big, just some Bow flex dumb bells, Bow flex blaze (its about 10 years old but in perfect shape) and a Nordictrack bike that is IFIT compatible. I put it all in my family room and watch TV as I work out. It makes those peaks on the bike not so bad and the weights tolerable. It has also saved me a ton of money in the last 9 years on memberships. Good luck, I love TV so I know how you feel!

Calldredge, that's a great idea and I used to have a home gym but now I don't have the space. I also find that I tend to slack off when I work out at home. Once I reach my goal weight and are in life time maintenance, I will prolly invest in a treadmill to park in front of my tv. Can someone say harry potter marathon bwhahahahahaha !!

Assuming you can get free wifi at the gym (and that you can work out hard while watching lol) some cable companies have an app for live tv on your phone. Wouldn't use up data if it's on wifi...just a thought for the cardio portion.
