Someone was just telling me that they have lost 4 kilos since Christmas. How is that even possible. I will be lucky if I have lost 400g. 🤔
I will just add, this person only had 6 kgs to lose.

Edit: This is how they did it. 48 hours no food except tea and water. Then 800 - 1000 calories a day since 27th Dec. Full bore exercise. Result: weight loss, 2 migraines and grumpy.

Worth it? Time will tell............not my call. But, I certainly don't appreciate being on the receiving end of it so whether the friendship will survive is another matter!! (it was pretty ropey anyway!!)

Another update. They have lost just over 7 kilos in 5 weeks. Jeans are hanging off them at the back so a bit of muscle has gone. Maintenance plan is 48 hour fast every week and 1000 to 1500 cals a day. Exceedingly bad tempered with it

It's easier to lose weight if your 3 stones overweight than just a few pounds. Speaking from experience 😃👍

Hi Jonty 👋 this person has 6kg to lose. I mean, I believe them but I suspect some sort of starvation diet.

i have 23kg to loose and i have lost 3 in my 1st week so its possible. when you are larger it comes off quicker but they will be severely restricting their calorie intake

I don't think it's a lie, Chesty. I just don't understand how it's possible 🤷‍♀️

Hi Emma, yes, I suspect severe calorie restriction going on. This person isn't particularly overweight though, hence my surprise.

2 lbs a week would suit me fine, Chesty.

Not everyone loose at the same speed... I have managed to lose 2 kilos in one week by cutting all carbs and intermittent fasting, once I go into ketosis is great... The only thing that keeps me going is that I can have 200mls of red wine per day :)

Oh yes, ketosis. That might be ripping the weight off them. And they are doing dry Jan so that's a double whammy 🙂

there is an upper limit on fat loss so the majority of weight lost is likely water and muscle if so the water is acceptable muscle loss however is definitely not a goal most people have . however If it's a ketogenic diet after a Christmas splurge on carbs and salt etc it's actually a perfectly normal loss . all the best

Its not a ketogenic diet if last nights huge bowl of rice was anything to go by, 12AdeT21. But I think you are right in that their body is reacting to a severe and sudden cut in calories post-Christmas and it's shedding glycogen, water, salt, fat, muscle rapidly. I will be interested to see how this progresses!

I’ve gone the opposite way with all the stress! But have my PT session tomorrow and looking forward to it!

Lost almost 2kg in a week by reducing portions and not eating when not hungry, sweating out once in steam room and sauna and getting extra long sleep one day (magic which works every time for me if urgent weight loss required). My weight gain is stress induced so lowering cortisol helps a lot.

Hi, Suma. I suppose its possible to put on 4kg in 2 weeks also if the conditions are right? Hope you enjoy the PT session. I was pleasantly surprised by mine 😀

I love a sauna and long sleeps, Ta300k. Now I just have to master reducing portions 😀

Ok slight exaggeration. I’ve put on a couple of kg😅. Any gym or PT tips in general?

I think communication is important with the PT. A good long chat to begin with. And when exercising if something doesn't feel right ask for corrections or alternatives. And enjoy the process 😀😀😀
