Ok, Imma say what I'm sure a lot people here are thinking. Fat Secret is a weight loss support group for advice, encouragement and logging your diet and exercise. It is not a place to post religious beliefs or ideas or to quote scripture unless it pertains to your personal weight loss goals. I respect every single person here and have utmost respect for religion and personal beliefs but I'm tired of seeing it here everyday to the point that people are arguing back forth. Quit forcing the rest of us to deal with it.. even if I'm just scrolling and not even posting or comment on your religious rants, its annoying. I'm here to lose weight. if I want a sermon Ill attend mass on Sunday. Again, my respects to everyone and their beliefs but it really doesn't belong on FAT Secret.. feel free to delete me if this offends you in any way.

You know, I find the easiest thing to do if someone posts something I don't like is to just not read the post. If posting scripture helps someone get through one more day or lose one more pound then I say go for it.

I agree gwmoore4, your right, if it helps them get thru then by all means post it. I even noted above that I feel you shouldn't post unless it pertains to weight loss. What this post is about is that I've noticed a certain few people "arguing " here about religion back and forth and facing off back and forth.. thats what annoys me..Arguing in any form doenst belong on a weight loss site is all Im saying..

I simply don't read them. I skip through many that I cannot support or will not comment on like those wanting advice using diet drugs. Avoid discussing religion and politics in most situations is how I grew up. I do the same on face book.

When someone puts a god/Jesus/tooth faerie comment on my threads, I delete them off. I also don't accept buddy requests from those who fill their bio wit it. You're absolutely right about this site being for weight loss; this is not Facebook or some kind of prayer chain (can't pray away the fat).

I am not a Christian, I'm a Pagan, and I have nothing against people putting that in their journals. As you said, it's a moral support group. If that is what motivates them and keeps them focused, more power to them. They aren't coming on my journal to preach, it's their journal, and others of the same faith might find encouragement and motivation in that too, the end result is that it helps somebody. I only read certain journals, I skip over others - and not necessarily because of various faith statements, there are other things I don't agree with, but I am not here to start arguments, it's that person's faith, lifestyle, etc, they are entitled to live their life as they see fit. I think this whole thing is just getting blown out of proportion, and, imo, a tad hypocritical. One can't claim persecution and non-acceptance and then turn around and do the same to others.

I'm with WFN. I just skip over them. I have one "buddy" who ONLY posts scripture but I don't have to read it and she seems to have her followers. If it comforts/helps them, more power to them. I do agree that arguments over it are annoying. It's sad that anyone feels they have to be involved. Still, we don't have to read or participate.

Daybernt, will all due respect , you one of the people arguing all the time in my opinion with people who aren't pagans and you are entitled to your opinion and beliefs... But this is a weight loss site and nothing else. Please stay off my post..

My opinion::: Your journal is your journal and anything goes. I figure I pick and choose what I want to read, I can't read everything. I post lots that isn't about weight loss, or fitness (some have complained), it's my journal, if someone chooses to read and/or comment it is their decision. Part of my journey is feeling good about my whole life. I sincerely believe for many here it is the same. Many things affected their journey to being overweight, so many demons to face on the often hard journey back to healthy. Much of my life has been a mess so I need to get all that back in order to be healthy mentally and physically. My slow house reno and doing things with my family is part of feeling good about me as is getting back to my hobbies, religion for many helps them feel good about themselves for many family support is huge. I try to avoid arguments here though Diablo keeps trying to force me into one. LOL. To each his own as well as what works for weight loss, there is much diversity here. I think we need to accept everyone with no arguments. MY lunch break is over so back to my painting.

I agree WFN... i agree post what makes you happy and what you need to even religion, scripture, paganism or what ever you need to get thru your day.. I post about my crap all the time and most of it is just about what I plan to do with my day, eat or cook .. what Im mean to say is its the arguing that's old when one FS'er does agree with another one, they jump on their post and try and force their point of view on another member weather it be religion or something else. . Rockies, if selling your car will help you along your journey then post away !!

Thanks:) Hey you have a WONDERFUL DAY Red ;)

Just a question, Red. Can you give me an example of me arguing with people who aren't Pagans? I know your opinion is your opinion, but if opinions aren't based on facts, they become something else. I am REALLY curious, you know. Mainly because except for two people in my buddies list, whom I know in real life and I brought here, that I know for a fact are Pagans, I have no idea what religions anyone is. And the only "arguing" I did was to defend people's right to post on their journal what they want. The fact that I am here, commenting on your journal, DEFENDING CHRISTIAN PEOPLE'S RIGHT TO POST WHAT THEY WANT ON THEIR JOURNALS, kind of pulls the carpet from under the feet of your statement, don't you think?

@Dayberndt - I posted on your journal ONE time with good intentions and YOU bit my head off in a response saying you disliked people who did not read all your history and essentially called me stupid. I said I would NEVER comment on your posts again and I have not done so. If Red asks you to get off HER post, why do you disrespect her wishes and post something argumentative toward her? You just proved her point that you are argumentative. DO NOT REPLY to this post on Red's journal. Thank you.
