I hate when foods touch 🤣 Drives my hubby crazy, as he mixes everything.

WifeMamaNurse,. I really didn't know I opposed it until I started taking photos of my plate to post here. I apparently don't like my food to touch 🤷. Then I noticed how my hubby mixes in his all up 😱.

I don't mix cold items with hot on the same plate (e.g. coleslaw would be in a small bowl and eaten as a first course before bringing out the plate of hot food). But I eat mostly soups, stews or curries for dinners, so everything is mixed up anyway. Do you eat each item entirely before moving on to the next, also? I've seen some people follow a clockwise eating pattern.

My younger son did not like his food to touch. We were usually almost finished eating before he had his plate arranged to please him. (We have 2 boys, 4 years apart in age.) My hubby is pretty much an "eat one item at a time" eater. There were 5 kids in his family, with wide gaps between ages and he was youngest, so he could be a picky eater. There were five kids in my family, 7 years between oldest and youngest. There were no picky eaters in our family. Interesting to see how family dynamics can affect such things as how fast one eats, or how picky one is about eating habits.

JustBananas, No, I eat a little of this and a little of that in no certain order.

Texasgranny6, What I found really funny was the fact that I had no idea I did that. But one day looking back on my journal, I noticed how I always arrange my food. Oh the things I've learned about myself through this journey.

I am not a "mixer" per se, but I don't mind the foods touching - there is a third delightful flavor right in the merge area! (Oh how I LOVE food!) Anywhoooo, the only thing I really love to "mix" is "Turkey glop". It's the day after thanksgiving leftovers - server n a bowl! All together ..... YUM - MY! (Oh how I LOVE food) ..... dang 😕

3dkids2,. I have maybe accidentally let something touch and then kinda mixed them while I ate. I love food too! I'm just trying not to love too much at one time now 😊.

3dkids2, Dang - now I'm going to try to sample from the merge area from time to time 👍.

Aghhhh - that’s a big NOPE for me🤣🤣 I love food but absolutely cannot have them touch or even see them touch! It’s like watching someone chew/ear w their mouth open 🤢🤮 I can remember my grandmother putting her veggies in her mashed potatoes every thanksgiving- and it did me in everytime🤮

I thought I was the only one who doesn’t like food touching lol

Once I added M&M’s to ice cream, I no longer cared if food touched each other. For some reason my phobia disappeared. I think it’s in the sauce. 😎

Ah, memories. I was the kid who couldn't tolerate food touching. 😂 I've outgrown that, but I still totally get it!
