Struggling *every *single *day with sodium intake. Tomorrow? Meal plan just “works.” Just under 1600; I usually struggle to stay much under 3000. 🤷‍♀️ ???

That is a good move in the right direction Laura. Well done. Sodium is a concern for me too, high blood pressure, so I read box and can labels A LOT. Sometimes I put it back on the shelf and just sigh. I love Pesto, make it myself with virgin olive oil and a spice blend I get at the grocery. I wonder if it's available where you are? Fresh and Yummy!

can always use a little potassium salt. not as good but at least it still has flavor

Patti: I get my Pesto from Costco. It’s expensive! But I have only a Tbsp., almost every day with my breakfast egg, so I’m ok with it. Absolutely love that stuff!

Patti: I put a T. of hummus; then a T. of pesto sauce, on toasted multi grain bread and topped with a microwaved “fried” egg. The clamshell I have for that let’s me zap an egg to “jammy” in 27 seconds. I’m totally addicted!

I too have a problem with sodium...have a hard time not being able to eat chips...I used to eat a small bag of chips almost every single day...now haven't had any since around new years... ..

you got this! Don't give up. I watch my sodium more than I watch my calories. I'm 60 years old and I know how important it is to be heart smart at this point in my life. you can do this too. remove all salt from cooking. it was really hard for me to do but it took a little bit but I did it. I don't cook with any salt anymore and I switched to sea salt. I've learned how to eat hard boiled eggs with just pepper! Lol. you can do this too. cut out all the foods that are processed and bag snacks. they're so high and sodium. Even meets that are free season that you buy in the grocery store. don't buy them. season them yourself and omit the salt. you can do that. I appreciate being able to motivate you as much as you motivated me so many times over the last several months. I hope you have a great weekend!
